Diana May
Neuro Somatic Practitioner & Yoga Teacher
Diana May is a yoga educator, Somatic Experiencing® practitioner, and applied-neurology specialist who helps people reduce pain, restore mobility, and deepen connection with their bodies and nervous systems. She discovered yoga at age 19 during a challenging period of early adulthood, an experience that opened a lifelong path toward embodied awareness and integrative healing.
Diana holds degrees in environmental studies and urban planning with a focus on community development. She's also worked as an environmental activist. Her projects included restoring a coastal dune ecosystem and successfully advocating for the protection of public lands and the native Tule elk, work that shaped her understanding of systems, resilience, and interdependence.
She is a certified SmartFLOW® teacher, Yoga for Bone Health educator, and Yoga for Menopause teacher, complementing extensive training in anatomy, biomechanics, and yogic philosophy. Diana has completed the three-year Somatic Experiencing® training and continues advanced study in applied neurology, grounding her teaching in nervous-system science and trauma-aware principles.
Her philosophy honors each person’s unique physiology and lived history, viewing movement and healing as a responsive, moment-to-moment conversation between body and brain.
Through her online programs and personalized 1:1 work, she weaves together yoga, somatics, and nervous-system regulation to help clients build resilience, lessen chronic pain, and move through life with clarity and confidence. Rooted in both science and ecology, her work invites people to feel resourced, connected, and deeply at home in themselves.
