David Bovis is a leadership strategist, keynote speaker, and founder of Duxinaroe, specialising in the application of neuroscience to leadership, decision-making, and performance under pressure. His work focuses on understanding why experienced, well-intentioned leaders in manufacturing environments often struggle to deliver sustainable change, despite strong operational systems and proven improvement methods.
 
With forty years in manufacturing, David has worked across automotive, aerospace, space, defence, FMCG, food, and specialist manufacturing sectors, including Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supply chains. His career spans shop-floor operations through to senior leadership advisory roles, giving him rare visibility into how leadership decisions, performance systems, and cultural dynamics are actually experienced on the ground.
 
Through decades of transformation and continuous improvement work, David identified a recurring pattern. Many performance, engagement, and change failures are not caused by a lack of capability, effort, or intent, but by a misunderstanding of how the human brain responds to pressure, uncertainty, and perceived threat.
 
David is the creator of the BTFA™ (Believe–Think–Feel–Act) framework, a neuroscience-informed model that explains how belief shapes perception, how perception influences emotional response, and how this governs behaviour and performance. BTFA gives leaders a practical way to understand how safety, threat, and prediction in the brain quietly shape decision-making, communication, accountability, and engagement, particularly in high-pressure manufacturing environments.
 
Rather than offering motivational theory or generic leadership tools, David’s work helps leaders develop the awareness required to change how decisions are made, how people respond under stress, and how performance systems are interpreted by the brain. His approach bridges neuroscience, operational excellence, and leadership practice to enable durable behavioural change where traditional approaches repeatedly stall.
