Christina J. Barea

Founder, Medical Qigong Instructor & Therapist

Christina J. Barea is a Medical Qigong Instructor & Therapist and the founder of 5 Phases Health, where she helps adults build strength, energy, and resilience through movement and nutrition. Since 2003, she has been professionally dedicated to human potential in its physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions, guiding people toward daily habits that support lasting wellbeing.

Christina began her career teaching Qigong and Tai Chi in parks, corporations, fitness studios, and homes. In 2009 she authored Qigong Illustrated, which received the Silver Nautilus Award, and in 2012 she was invited by Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasting to film Qigong programming for the local community, ultimately producing three seasons, with the first also translated into Spanish. To deepen her understanding of movement and energetics, she has trained continuously in related martial arts, including Bagua Zhang, Neigong, and Xing Yi.

Her credentials include Advanced Qigong Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutritionist, a Master's in Medical Qigong Therapy, and NQA Certified Senior Qigong Instructor. Over the years she has worked extensively with difficult and chronic cases, often with people who had not found results through other approaches, supporting them before and after surgery and helping manage the effects of serious illness and its treatment. She has visited countless hospitals to support patients during critical moments and has served as a referral source for oncologists in both California and Atlanta.

Christina has also served on boards and worked in acupuncture academies, including as a Professor of Qigong at the University of East West Medicine and the Atlanta School of Massage, and as Editor in Chief of Yang Sheng Magazine. Today she focuses on training the next generation of healers and guiding others toward living their best life, one daily step at a time.
