Ben Jones is a leadership educator, senior academic leader, and musician specialising in leadership, learning, and systems thinking within creative education. He currently oversees performance provision across multiple campuses at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in London, leading curriculum development, academic teams, and industry partnerships across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Alongside his academic leadership, Ben has over 15 years of professional experience as a bassist, musical director, and educator, working across live performance, higher education, and artist development. This experience shapes his approach to leadership, grounded in the realities of performance, collaboration, and high-pressure environments.

Ben is the creator of “Problems Not People,” a leadership platform focused on diagnosing challenges at the level of systems, behaviours, and environments rather than individuals. His work explores how leaders can move beyond blame and quick fixes to develop clearer thinking, more effective conversations, and practical experiments that improve performance, learning, and culture.

Through his writing, teaching, and leadership practice, Ben draws on behavioural science, reflective practice, and real-world experience to support leaders working in complex, human systems.
