Instructor
I am an Aboriginal man of the Anaiwan nation of Australia. I took up martial arts from the age of 9, which quickly became a passion. Being in Regional Australia, it was difficult to continue martial training with instructors long term. I started weght training from 12 years of age at my local high school, and was able to integrate martial and weight training with Goji Kai from the age of 16.
Since then, I moved several times, experienced other systems, and trained under several high-ranking martial artists both locally and internationally. I have also comperted in tournament at the Australian and Australasian levels.
I have spent years working on my body and mind, and in 2024 earned my Black Belt in the Ken Sei Shoto Ryu style, based in Port Macquarie NSW. I have learned much with academic recognition, yet remain a perpetual student through dedicated self-directed learning. My focus is on applying academic principles through martial training, in ways that students can easily understand and apply for themselves...and make it fun along the way!
Some of my qualifications and achievements are:
2010 - Bachelor of Arts (Chinese)
2011 - Diploma of Management
2012 - Master of Arts (Chinese)
2013 - (Master of Teaching (Secondary)
Noted tournament achievements:
2005 - Gold: Intermediate point sparring, GKR Australaisian tournament
2025 - Gold - Advanced Veterans point sparring, AMAC regional tournament
2025 - Silver - Advanced point sparring, AMAC regional tournament
2025 - Silver - Advanced Veterans kata, AMAC regional tournament
