Anita MacDonald
Meteor EdTech Ltd
Anita from the coalfields to the cutting edge of EdTech. Raised in a mining town by her grandparents, Anita's early life was defined by the grit of a deprived background and the discipline of a classical education. A Conservatoire-trained pianist, she mastered the art of precision and performance, a foundation that led her into secondary education and the pastoral system.
Yet, it is her lived experience as a survivor of abuse that serves her true purpose. Having navigated the complexities of trauma, she transformed her survival into fierce advocacy and vowed to ensure systemic failures would be addressed.
This unique intersection of artistry, executive leadership, and deep-seated empathy allows Anita to approach safeguarding as a moral imperative. As a head, she saw firsthand where children fall through the cracks, and she is now building technological bridges to close them.
