Anissa Renae Kunda

Tourism Business Strategist

Anissa Renae Kunda is a tourism business strategist, keynote speaker, published author and founder of the T.O.U.R. Framework: Truth, Ownership, Upscale and Refine.

Her expertise was built over 35 years inside the tourism industry as co-founder and co-director of Cape York Motorcycle Adventures, one of Australia’s most decorated adventure tourism operations. Renae experienced first-hand the realities of running a small tourism business: pricing, cash flow, staffing, marketing, compliance, sustainability, customer experience, business growth and the constant tension between delivering an exceptional experience and building a commercially sustainable operation.

In 2006, she helped pioneer the world’s first Eco-Certification for a motorcycle tour company, beginning a 20-year certified sustainability journey that ultimately led to Ecotourism Australia Hall of Fame recognition. Her industry achievements also include Gold at the 2025 Queensland Tourism Awards for Adventure Tourism, the 2025 BX Business xCellence Travel and Tourism Award, and recognition in Inside Small Business’s Top 50 Small Business Leaders list.

Today, Renae turns the lessons learned behind the scenes of a real tourism business into practical development for owner-operators. Through T.O.U.R., she helps operators face what is really happening in their business, take ownership of what they can change, upscale the right areas and refine what works. Her philosophy is simple: a great experience deserves a great business.

She is also the author of Always Rising: A Small-Business Woman Turning Setbacks Into Success and speaks on business ownership, resilience and tourism leadership.
