Dr. Amber Murphy, PhD is a sports biomechanist with over 20 years of research and on-track experience working with athletes at every level, from youth to Olympic competitors. As an expert in Sports Biomechanics, she has spent more than two decades working with collegiate and professional track and field athletes, as well as collegiate football players, applying rigorous science to elite performance.

Dr. Murphy's connection to the sport runs deep: she competed collegiately as a hurdler for the University of Florida, an experience that sparked her lifelong focus on sprint and hurdle mechanics. That interest evolved into a career as a leading researcher on sprinting, hurdling, and hamstring injury prevention, work that has shaped how coaches and athletes think about speed and durability.

Through CompuSport, Dr. Murphy uses proprietary software, 2D modeling, and AI to help athletes move faster, reduce injury risk, and assess talent potential. Her methods are applied across sprinting, hurdling, starting mechanics, and distance running, as well as sprinting and acceleration in team and winter sports, giving coaches and athletes actionable, data-driven insight into performance.

Building on decades of original research, Dr. Murphy co-authored "The Science of Speed" with the late Dr. Ralph Mann, a pioneer of sport biomechanics and USA Track and Field Hall of Famer. The book translates over 30 years of research on elite athletes into a practical guide covering sprint mechanics, injury prevention, and talent identification across track and field, team sports, and winter sports, distilling cutting-edge science into tools coaches and athletes can use every day.

Combining scientific rigor with firsthand athletic experience, Dr. Murphy continues to advance the field of sports biomechanics, helping athletes at every level train smarter, stay healthy, and reach their full potential.
