Allison Lindsey Durant
New Orleans Grief Center, LLC
Allison Lindsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of the New Orleans Grief Center, where she provides compassionate individual and group therapy for those navigating the complex landscape of grief and loss. After a meaningful career in healthcare, Allison's journey with grief--beginning with the unresolved loss of her mother nearly three decades earlier--motivated her to return to school and specialize in grief counseling.
Her professional expertise is deeply informed by her lived experience, including sobriety, breast cancer survivorship, and the dissolution of a 35-year marriage. These experiences have shaped Allison's grief informed approach, allowing her to meet clients with empathy, validation and a nuanced understanding of the many ways grief manifests.
Allison believes that grief is a universal human experience, present in all transitions and losses, big or small. She emphasizes that while grief can be painful, it also offers opportunities for growth and transformation. Through her writing, workshops, and clinical work, Allison is dedicated to creating safe, supportive spaces where individuals feel empowered to explore their grief, heal at their own pace, and move forward in a life that is meaningful to them.
