1. The first step is to make the decision that you want to live your best life

2. Be realistic with yourself and don’t blame others

  • We are only responsible for our actions and as much as we would like we can’t control others (tear). Follow the Golden rule “Do onto others as you would like them to do onto you” and not “an eye for an eye” cause we all just end up blind which is no fun at all.

3. Next decide what you are willing to change immediately

  • This can be large or small. From substance abuse and changing jobs to using the stairs or recycling.

4. Decide how much of your mental burden you are willing to Let go of.

Example:

  • Some people use their anger to protect themselves for sadness but it doesn’t serve you well. It increases stress hormones that age you and frankly make life less fun! However, sadness also sucks. How much of the anger can you let go of, have fun and not for sad at this stage. We are all a work in progress.

Example:

  • Physical health: high blood sugar or cholesterol à makes incremental small changes that you don’t mind doing without out. I don’t need those cookies I feel like crap every time I eat them. Or find a healthier alternative for foods you enjoy

5. Be consistent

6. Start from step 1 and repeat until you are living your best life!

Recap:

  1. Make a decision

  2. Be realistic

  3. Change immediately

  4. Let go

  5. Be consistent

  6. Repeat until you are living your best life!
