Marsha Roopchand-Walker, Author and Holistic Health Coach

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

My name is Marsha Roopchand-Walker and I am an author and holistic health coach. I love to travel and meet new and exciting people from all walks of life. I enjoy reading and learning new things. I am most passionate about living my purpose which is to serve others.

What inspired you to become a health coach for women, and how did you get started in this field?

It was my own personal journey of having health issues that led me on my journey. I suffered from fibroids that left me anemic for years until I had a uterine fibroid embolization procedure done. But a year later my heavy bleeding returned and the wake up call came on my birthday November 26 when I received a blood transfusion of 3 pints of blood after nearly passing out at the supermarket.

This is what led me to look at myself seriously and make changes with my health. I began learning more about GMO foods, pesticides and the effects it has on the body and began making better health choices. I gave up certain foods. In the midst of my journey, I had to deal with my own self worth from leaving my good paying job to endless unfulfilling jobs where I later experienced financial instability, vitamin deficiency which led to my depression and anxiety, as well as a failed relationship and even homelessness.

What types of health and wellness services do you offer on your website, and how do these help women improve their overall wellbeing?

I offer online coaching services where we meet once a week via zoom as well as offline where I offer Lymphatic Massages which help clients with recovery after surgery to reduce swelling and to help with healing and build the immune system. I am looking for a store front so I can serve more people and offer several services such as dance, meditation, breath work, nutrition and diabetic education, earthing (this is where we put our bare feet on the earth to connect energetically with electrons from the earth). Earthing can help to reduce pain, help with inflammation, regulate cortisol rhythm, speed up wound healing and more.

What sets your coaching approach apart from others in the industry, and how do you tailor your services to meet each client's unique needs?

I think what sets me apart from others in the industry is simply I am just me! I am someone who has experienced many trials and survived them. So when I work with my clients I can understand many of their struggles because I myself have lived them. I tailor the client's needs based on their own personal issues. No two clients are the same so they will be impacted in different ways based on their own goals in which they are trying to achieve. I, myself, am multidimensional and I’ve learned to adapt to the seasons of life with resilience. I simply live in a state of F.L.O.W. (Feeling Love Overflow Within). I don’t try to be like anyone else but my authentic self living my purpose without perfection and to serve and impact other women on an elevated level. This is what I want to teach my clients.

Can you share any success stories from women you've worked with in the past, and how your coaching helped them achieve their health goals?

Yes. I have worked with women who say I have helped them with their goals with managing what and how they eat as well as learning how to not absorb other people's issues and making it their own by putting themselves first as well as helping those who were never a client but follow and support me. One particular individual said, “Listening to her Podcast and following her other platforms will help and bless you if you are struggling and need mental clarity.

She is truly a beautiful person to talk to. I feel so much peace listening and learning from her. There are days when I have no direction, so this is my place of comfort. Thanks for being there for others.” - Valley A. London

Looking to the future, what are your plans for expanding your business and continuing to help women improve their health and wellbeing?

I want to grow my business to where I offer spa services as well. Women need a place to destress, relax and take time for themselves that they normally may not do because they are too busy taking care of others. I want to offer massages, foot soak, reflexology, facial treatments using all natural products, maybe even offer free self-care classes for women who have a hard time treating themselves.

Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.

My greatest career achievement so far is being able to share the knowledge on the importance of holistic health, understanding body intelligence, epigenetics, and cellular repair for optimal health. It is truly fascinating!

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

Change is slowly happening now! The healthcare industry as a whole needs to change and shift towards a more holistic approach, incorporating alternative medicine, using preventive methods and educating individuals on how to maintain optimal health. We can not go on treating symptoms for illnesses and diseases but find lasting solutions by treating the cause. I see doctors now looking at holistic and alternative methods as a form of healing in conjunction with traditional medicine and that’s a sign we are headed in the right direction. As more people empower themselves by seeking alternative and holistic health as a solution and by consuming more plant-based foods for optimal health, the healthcare industry will have no choice but to conform.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

I think a pivotal moment for me was when I was going through my personal struggles of losing it all and rebuilding. I had a spiritual awakening and I began to understand the importance of forgiveness, opening our hearts as well as our connection to nature. It is a reminder of higher intelligence that created all things. We are all connected and each of us has a role to play, a significant purpose in life, this includes the animals, the trees, all things. I learned to operate at a love frequency that is the greatest power!
