What is the movie that made the biggest impression on you as a child?

The Pursuit of Happyness is probably one of the most influential movies I remember watching years ago. Everyone is battling something in their life, and everyone is chasing the same thing happiness. For some, that means a better family life; for others, that means their dream job, but to some, it is the joy that comes from overcoming adversity and proving to others that anything is possible. I would say this resonated with me on multiple levels growing up, and it is still a move I love recommending to new entrepreneurs.

What are the top 3 apps you can’t live without?

GroupMe (allows me to stay in contact with various groups and individuals I have encountered in my life).

Calendly (allows me to quickly copy my links and send them to people so we can schedule something while I am on the go).

Voxer (I primarily use this with clients; however, it is a great tool that people around the world can use, but I particularly like the walkie-talkie feature, which makes it incredibly useful for explaining complex things).

What would you tell your 12-year-old self if you met him today?

I love this question because, for someone who was always anxious and wanted life to speed up so I could finally enjoy my time as an adult, I wish I heard these words: "Everything will happen when it's supposed to happen if you give your best today.”

I have learned that no matter how bad you want to speed up certain things in life, no matter how hard you work for something, and no matter how much you outpace your peers and competitors, there is a certain level of patience that will always be required. I have done a phenomenal job in condensing time-frames in my life and expediting certain milestones I have set for myself, but there are still some that I have been waiting for years to come to fruition. The phrase “Be patiently aggressive with everything you do” are some words of wisdom that were once said to me, but at the time, I did not understand what it meant. Now that I am much older and realize the power of this statement, I hope my translation will help others who might struggle with waiting for results.
