Uchechukwu Onwughalu

Sports Media Entrepreneur

Uchechukwu Onwughalu is a sports media entrepreneur, journalist and founder of Blaqsport, a Pan-African sports media and storytelling platform created to amplify African sport and connect sporting communities across borders.

With a background in Computer Science and experience in football media, Uchechukwu combines technology, journalism and storytelling to explore the people, businesses and ideas shaping African sport. Through Blaqsport, he has developed a growing platform covering football and other sports while creating conversations with players, coaches, journalists, executives, entrepreneurs and sporting professionals.

He has produced independent coverage of major African football competitions, including the Africa Cup of Nations and Women's Africa Cup of Nations, and has built relationships across African and international football. His work also includes the development of an African football data initiative focused on improving access to reliable player information and supporting talent identification, scouting and player development.

As the host of the Blaqsport Podcast, Uchechukwu explores football, sports business, technology, talent development, leadership and the wider issues affecting African sport. His work is driven by a belief that African sports stories deserve stronger platforms, better data and greater international visibility.
Through Blaqsport, he continues to build a bridge between African sporting talent, media, technology, business and global audiences.
