Trent Hardin
Ops Leadership Consultant
Trent spent the first third of his adult life – he can’t really call it a career – bouncing relatively aimlessly from job to job; until, for reasons he himself still can’t explain, he signed up as an infantry reservist and passed his basic training at age 32.
Everything since is finely divided by that undertaking. He is hardly the first person to have done this, to the same effect, and it comes with misconceptions of its own; but in many ways, the foundations of Trent’s success were to be found in that training, as applied in the civilian world, and can be distilled into three concepts: the doing of anything and everything, whatever it may be, to the best of one’s abilities, at all times, for its own sake; the application of such efforts in furtherance of something greater than one’s self; and, linking these, the understanding that nothing is more important than “buddy” – meaning everyone outside of oneself exerting themselves in common to that same common greater thing.
In every professional setting since leaving his overgrown teenager behind – in retail and service, industrial coatings, industrial purchasing, rail transload, and fittings distribution - Trent has found himself organically assigned ever-growing roles of responsibility; identifying critical areas of operational profitability and loss, reducing error rates, and emphasizing excellence in training, and thus consistently outperforming peer/sibling locations by as much as fifty percent.
He now offers his experience and methods freelance as a consultant, challenging all those ready to hear grasp what they need, not merely hear what they want, to foster the culture necessary to perform, survive, and thrive.
