Sithara Sajeev

Physiotherapist, Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher

Sithara Sajeev is a physiotherapist, meditation and mindfulness teacher, and founder of State of Harmony Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia. With nearly two decades of experience as a physiotherapist, she has worked across private practice, hospital rehabilitation, chronic pain, orthopaedic rehabilitation and movement-based wellbeing.

Over time, Sithara’s professional interests expanded beyond physical rehabilitation to explore the relationship between the body, mind, attention and emotional wellbeing. She went on to undertake formal training in meditation and mindfulness, including a Diploma in Meditation and Mindfulness, with further study in areas including Yoga Nidra, Buddhist Psychology and chakra meditation. She is also a registered member of Meditation Australia.

Through State of Harmony, Sithara now brings together her clinical background with meditation, mindful movement and self-compassion. She works with individuals, small groups and organisations through meditation programs, workplace wellbeing sessions, Clinical Pilates and restorative practices including sound meditation.

Her work is particularly interested in the ways perfectionism, self-judgement, stress and constant striving can shape wellbeing, and how mindfulness and self-compassion can help people relate to themselves differently. Rather than presenting mindfulness as a pursuit of constant calm or perfect presence, Sithara encourages a more human approach: noticing, returning and meeting experience with greater awareness and kindness.

Through her writing, she explores mindfulness, meditation, self-compassion, attention, stress, mind-body wellbeing and what these practices can look like in real life.
