Co-founder of ZAA’N Beauty

Serineh Paria is the co-founder of ZAA’N Beauty, a women-founded skincare house rooted in Persian botanical heritage and modern formulation science. Raised in a Persian Armenian family, she grew up with traditional oils and plant knowledge that later became the starting point for her work in cosmetics.

Before building ZAA’N, Serineh spent 15 years in vascular ultrasound. For six of those years she served as an ultrasound director across seven clinics, working with more than 20 vascular technologists. Her responsibilities included quality assurance, IAC and ACR accreditation, and training physicians and technologists. She has been invited to speak in the vascular community through Inteleos, whose networks include ARDMS, and she continues to teach and share that expertise.

In 2025 she left her nine-to-five role and, with her friend and co-founder Mina Mandkarian, began ZAA’N Beauty. Mina, who is Zoroastrian, brings generational Persian ritual and cultural knowledge to the partnership. Together they formulate small-batch products in the United States, pairing heritage botanicals such as galbanum, saffron, rose, and pomegranate with contemporary cosmetic actives.

Serineh’s writing for Brainz Magazine explores P-beauty, the meeting of ancestral plant medicine and clinical method, and what it means to build a brand without outside funding. ZAA’N — from zan, meaning woman — is her way of carrying Persian beauty into the West with the same standard she once brought to a medical lab: precision, patience, and no shortcuts.
