Over her 20+ years in the domain of vehicle design, the many vertical and design of interiors, exteriors, components, systems and complete ground-up concept design and development of vehicles, Sanghamitra finds that her versatility and understanding of key design principles, markets, customer values, depth of thinking and aesthetics have been essential to her journey. She has designed her way up from simple headlight and tail-light designs to entire production level buses, trucks, tractors, aircraft interiors and defence vehicles. The projects were executed by her along with her team from sketch to production. Starting as a consultant to founding her own Design studio in India.
Sanghamitra's journey is filled with multiple client success stories and exciting design case studies.
She believes in creating journeys that are inclusive, meaningful, sustainable, desirable and pleasurable on many levels. She believes that the next 20 years will see the biggest single change in the design and use of vehicles, wherein the usual segments of vehicles are going to merge, change and even disappear, new usability scopes will emerge, lifestyles and customers will change.
The world will need vehicle design solutions that ask more from t he creative mind, push for design that addresses product life-cycle choices for every component & production choices. New advancements in composites, manufacturing processes is changing the very premises that have driven designers for the last few decades. The sooner one embraces these changes the more one remains relevant to the industry and changing customer bases.
Other than designing, Sanghamitra has consistently taught as various higher education design institutions internationally, and believes in building the next generation of vehicle designers.
