Founder and Creator, contAIn™”

Samantha Maeer is the founder and creator of contAIn™, the methodology layer that directs AI to the outcome you define. She built it after discovering that having the tools was not the same as getting reliable results. Answers changed from day to day, context had to be rebuilt repeatedly, and when something went wrong, it was not always clear who was responsible.

As a non-technical operator, she spent thousands of hours testing AI in real work because nothing on the market made it perform to the standard she needed. That work became contAIn™ and two published papers, The Feed Loop and Gates and Prohibitions, ORCID 0009-0000-5439-3645.

How people adapt to disruption runs through her work. In 2020 she co-curated Rethink the Rainbow, a children’s anthology on mental health and the pandemic, with an endorsement from Benjamin Zephaniah. She is now following that thread into how the Covid-school generation meets an AI labour market.

Her career has been anything but conventional. At eighteen she ran the onboard catering out of King’s Cross, then taught English in Laos, sailed halfway round the world and spent thirty years delivering projects across the UK, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, where behavioural change rather than the technology was the bigger challenge. Her work included the SaaS training platform at Dubai Airports, the first approved by the UAE’s aviation regulator, project controls for the 216,800-square-metre Mataf ceiling at Masjid Al Haram and the Barclays desktop migration project. She didn’t plan a career, she navigated one.

She now leads contAIn™, which helps individuals and organisations move from reactive, inconsistent AI use to structured AI they govern and direct, with a clear source of truth, defined human responsibility and less room for the technology to quietly become the decision-maker.
