Mechanical Engineer

Dr. May Chahine is a mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. in Process Engineering and Energetics from the University of Orléans, France. Her expertise spans combustion, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer, with research focusing on the role of magnetic and electric fields in laminar diffusion flames, soot formation, and thermo-acoustic instabilities. She has conducted postdoctoral research at the Clean Combustion Research Centre, University of Science and Technology in Jeddah, contributing to advanced strategies for combustion control and energy efficiency.

In parallel with her research, Dr. Chahine has cultivated a strong teaching profile through her roles at École de Technologie Supérieure (Montréal) and the University of Orléans, where she has taught thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Passionate about education, she founded Tutorat Excellence in Montréal, a center dedicated to personalized tutoring from primary to university levels. Through this initiative, she actively develops innovative teaching techniques and provides tailored support for diverse learners, with a particular focus on children with special needs and immigrant students, ensuring equitable access to high-quality education in STEM disciplines.

Her career reflects a dual commitment: advancing scientific knowledge in energy and combustion sciences while pioneering inclusive and transformative educational practices. Dr. Chahine’s work bridges rigorous research with educational innovation, empowering the next generation of scientists and engineers to succeed in an increasingly diverse and dynamic world.
