Karen Menz
Traumatic Brain Injury Educator and Health Coach
Karen Menz is a retired Army Sergeant First Class, Multiple-TBI Survivor, author, speaker, and Certified Health Coach whose life and work reflect resilience, faith, and purposeful leadership. During 24 years of military service, she developed the discipline, adaptability, and advocacy skills that would later guide her through years of recovery after multiple traumatic brain injuries and brain surgery.
After experiencing rejection, misunderstanding, and the daily challenges of rebuilding her life, Karen transformed her pain into purpose. She earned a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, completed health-coach training through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and became the author of Against All Odds: Overcoming Multiple Traumatic Brain Injuries.
Karen is the founder of Healing Rise Up Solutions, a solution-based company created to bridge the gap between recovery and everyday living after Brain Injury. Through her faith-based Life After Impact approach, coaching programs, educational resources, workbooks, and children’s materials, she equips Brain Injury Survivors, Veterans, Children with Brain Injury, Caregivers, and Families with practical tools for managing neurofatigue, strengthening communication, rebuilding confidence, reconnecting relationships, and moving forward with purpose.
Her work is grounded in lived experience and designed to make complex recovery information easier to understand and apply. Karen’s mission is to remind every person affected by Brain Injury that they are not broken and that a meaningful life is still possible. Her signature message is: Claim Your Abilities, Not Your Disabilities.
