James Cavanagh
Founder / ADHD Consultant
James Cavanagh is a leading neurodiversity consultant, educator, and author, redefining resilience, executive function, and neurodivergent support systems. With over 25 years of lived and professional experience, he has worked across mental health, education, and disability sectors, holding roles as a school counsellor, wellbeing leader, disability support worker, and neuroaffirmative consultant. His approach is deeply rooted in both lived experience with ADHD and anxiety and a lifelong commitment to creating strength-based, neuroaffirmative solutions.
As the founder of RAWlife, James developed the RAWSOME™ Framework, RAWsilience™ Model, and BLOOM™ Profiler—a groundbreaking system that maps neurodivergent strengths and growth areas across seven essential RAWSOME™ pillars:
Relationships (RAWlate™) – Building meaningful connections
Adaptability (RAWflex™) – Cultivating flexibility and resilience
Wellness (RAWnew™) – Supporting mind and body well-being
Sensory Processing (RAWvibe™) – Managing and optimizing sensory experiences
Organisation (RAWganise™) – Strengthening executive function and time management
Mindfulness (RAWmind™) – Enhancing emotional regulation and self-awareness
Empowerment RAWARDS™ – Fostering self-advocacy and celebrating achievements
James is also the author of Living with WOW: The Power of Active Resilience, where he introduces Active Resilience Theory (ART)—a revolutionary approach that turns challenges into opportunities for growth. His WOW! Factor framework (Witness, Own, Wonder) empowers individuals to recognize their strengths, take action, and embrace transformation, shifting the narrative around resilience from passive endurance to active, intentional growth.
Through the RAWSOME™ Hack Stack, the BLOOM™ Profiler, and the RAWsilience™ Model, James provides practical, gamified strategies for executive function, emotional regulation, and self-efficacy. His work extends into education, mental health, and workplace inclusion, training professionals to integrate neuroaffirmative, strength-based practices into schools, therapy settings, and corporate well-being programs.
By valuing, yet challenging outdated deficit-based models, James is paving the way for a future where neurodivergent strengths are amplified, executive function is supported, and resilience is redefined as a dynamic, action-based process. His work is not just about surviving—it’s about thriving.
