Francis Njoku
Cultural Commerce Strategist, Artist, and Founder of UKRAFT,
Francis Njoku is a Cultural Commerce Strategist, artist, and founder of UKRAFT, a platform dedicated to transforming African craftsmanship into globally valued cultural assets. His work operates at the intersection of art, commerce, and storytelling, where he builds systems and institutional structures that elevate traditional crafts from locally traded goods into structured, high-value products for international markets.
Inspired by early exposure to craft trading through his grandmother, Francis developed a deep understanding of the cultural and economic significance embedded in handmade works. This foundation informs his vision to bridge the gap between African artisans and global demand not just through access, but through strategic positioning, provenance, and design-led value.
Through UKRAFT, he is developing a scalable ecosystem that connects creators, distributors, and markets, enabling artisans to achieve visibility, sustainability, and long-term economic relevance. His work focuses on addressing systemic gaps in how cultural products are perceived and traded, shifting them from undervalued commodities to recognized forms of cultural capital.
Now based in Canada, Francis brings a cross-cultural and global perspective to his work, engaging with broader market systems and exploring how cultural commerce can influence sustainable living, urban development, and creative economies across Africa and beyond.
With a growing network of partners, artisans, and distribution channels, his long-term vision is to establish African craftsmanship as a defining force in global cultural trade where identity, heritage, and design converge to create lasting value.
