Douglas McGregor CEng MIET is a Chartered Electrical Engineer, Design Director, and multi-platform technology founder with over 30 years of experience delivering safety-critical infrastructure for some of the UK's most demanding clients — including Network Rail, NHS trusts, and major renewable energy developers.

As founder of Electel Systems Design Ltd, Douglas has led complex projects spanning railway electrification, hospital power infrastructure, high-voltage campus design, and solar farm integration. In 2020, a moment of clarity during the COVID pandemic prompted him to leave employment and found Electel Systems Design Ltd. The clients followed — not out of loyalty to a name, but because it was Douglas's service, expertise, and professionalism they had been relying on all along.

Driven by a personal transformation journey and a lifelong instinct to solve real problems through engineering rigour, Douglas has since built five AI-powered platforms: ESD Fitness, ESD Solar Farm Analytics, ESD DC Cables Calculator, ESD Geothermal, and an AI engineering clone system. Each addresses a genuine market gap identified through decades of direct professional experience.

Across his five platforms, Douglas has filed 10 patents covering AI fitness technology, solar analytics, DC cable design, and geothermal energy systems. ESD Solar Farm Analytics is currently in active discussions with projects, public bodies, and trade associations as part of its validation programme — a platform Douglas believes will be a significant market disruptor.
