There’s an inherent wrong in the word ‘misfit’. The word implies that something is supposed to fit in somewhere.
Our education system is very good at identifying so-called misfits, but perhaps not so good at supporting them in understanding who they are.
No matter what environment, life always had a way of reflecting back to Connor, how he was different, whether it was being a minority ethnicity in school, or being less social than his peers. It wasn’t until he faced an amalgamation of personal challenges at university, that he began to look inward and understand himself.
Introspection brought about the desire to succeed in life, to be of value and to leave a positive impact on this planet. He began to put pen to paper and write poetry as a means of expression. He was invited to perform and enjoyed appearing at many poetry events around the country.
Poetry, and doing something he loved, brought about confidence and confidence applied brought progress. Progress brought failures and failures brought learnings. Learnings equate to growth and growth is a part of success and thus, the cycle continues. Across many years with many ventures tried and failed; building charities, motivational speaking, launching a marketing business, the ‘success cycle’ accelerated.
In 2020 Connor and his brother Tyler founded Dreamfruit as a way of providing the UK access to natural health in its purest form, fruit. The brothers studied hundreds of fruits and began working with researchers and universities to understand the positive effects these fruits can have.
After receiving investment, the brothers expanded the team and focused on the world of sports, building partnerships with athletes and clubs whilst selling subscription services exclusively to athletes. Now many athletes and nutritionists seek out Connor not only for Dreamfruit’s products, but for his advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to health and success.
‘So, here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits….’
