Angela Brown
Chronic Illness Speaker, Author, Peer Mentor & Advocate
Angela Brown is an award-winning author, chronic illness speaker, patient advocate, and peer mentor whose work is rooted in lived experience, resilience, and the belief that every patient deserves to be heard.
Angela advocates for people living with invisible and chronic illnesses, with a particular focus on pulmonary hypertension, patient empowerment, self-advocacy, and navigating the healthcare system. Her own experiences with chronic illness, delayed diagnosis, and having her concerns dismissed have shaped her commitment to helping others find their voice and confidently advocate for themselves.
As a speaker and storyteller, Angela shares honest and relatable perspectives on living with invisible illness, the emotional impact of chronic health challenges, medical gaslighting, and the importance of being an active participant in your healthcare. She has participated in panels, podcasts, patient education initiatives, support groups, and advocacy programs, including work with organizations such as PHA Canada, CORD, and the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance.
Angela is also an author of three books: Finding the Light Within, The Courage to Change, and The Miracle of God—How 30 Seconds Changed My Life Forever. Her writing reflects her experiences with faith, resilience, transformation, and finding hope during difficult seasons of life.
In addition to her advocacy and writing, Angela is a TEFL-certified ESL tutor and the founder of Little Voices English Club, an online English community supporting children ages 4–12 who are learning English as an additional language. She combines her teaching experience with interactive, confidence-building approaches that encourage children to use English without fear of making mistakes.
Through her writing, speaking, teaching, and advocacy, Angela continues to use her voice to educate, encourage, and empower others—especially those whose struggles may not be visible to the people around them.
