Amber McMillan

Creator of the Feisty Human Pathway

Amber McMillan is an author, speaker, executive educator, and creator of The Feisty Human Pathway, a human-centred approach to helping people uncouple their worth from performance and reconnect with who they already are.

With more than 30 years of experience spanning leadership, entrepreneurship, education, organizational change, and project management, Amber has spent much of her career helping people and organizations navigate complexity, transition, conflict, and growth. She has taught and developed university-level programs in project management, change management, leadership, and business communication and has worked with professionals and leaders across sectors throughout North America.

Her work today grew from a more personal realization. After years of achievement, credentials, leadership roles, and professional success, Amber began questioning how easily accomplishment can become identity – and what happens when our sense of worth becomes attached to what we achieve, produce, or prove.

That exploration became The Feisty Human.

Amber's work challenges the deeply embedded belief that people are problems to be fixed or unfinished versions of who they should become. Instead, she explores intrinsic worth, identity, human behaviour, leadership, change, and the stories people inherit about what makes them valuable.

Through her writing, speaking, courses, assessments, and group experiences, Amber creates spaces for people to examine those stories with curiosity and courage. Her philosophy is simple, but intentionally disruptive: worth is not something we achieve. Becoming more fully human may have less to do with improving ourselves than remembering who we were before the world told us who we needed to be.
