Certainty plays a role in who we are and what we do

Creating certainty is about being clear with what you want, just as much as what you don’t want.

It is like the “Black & White” discussion. We all know there is a lot of GREY in between so this is how we create certainty in uncertainty and where I play. I create my “Black and White” – I call this my boundaries, and then I play in the “Grey” parts that sit in-between.

Being meticulous in this process allows me to create, to innovate and work in my place of GENIUS.

Following this process enables us to learn and to live life to its fullest, and it enables us to know that we are aligned with our values. Certainty that changes will occur is second-ordera fact, so how we accept this will drive the way in which we step forward in life and in business.

How much more ease would there be for you when you know your BLACK & WHITE?

I work with people who want to be high performers, who want to strive for more. I work with teams who want to innovate and think about the unthinkable. Having a limitless belief is not about “pie in the sky stuff” it’s about a pursuit of excellence with structure and commitment. When we create certainty with boundaries and accept that there will be areas in between that change or even fail, we begin the path forward with certainty and create a strategy that embraces a mindset that has the ability to think critically and can mitigate risk. I call this “second order thinking”.

If there is one thing that is certain in life it is that there is uncertainty in everything. I am not sure how that will land for you but it is shared with the intent that it will give you comfort in that we are all in this together.

When I share my experiences and knowledge as I work with people from across the Globe, it is the same message that I share within Businesses, with adults and children alike. My message does not change depending on the audience, I do not choose to share a little here and bit there. It is about gifting all that I know no matter age, career or location.

It is about being consistent and deliberate.

This act alone creates certainty. It allows those around me to know that they can trust me in honouring them by sharing all that I know no matter who they are. This creates certainty for me and for them.

RESPONDING vs REACTING

These measured actions form part of the formular that feeds into the practices that I show people. Whilst you might acknowledge the theory that sits behind these simple points, it is in the acting out of it that will deliver the outcomes that you seek.

Words are powerful and will bring about change, but if we do not follow through with actions, we fall short in our commitment and our outcome reflects the culmination of every step we have taken.

The choice to “respond” is about planning ahead. The Choice to “react” is to take action as it arises and fall back into past patterns and behaviours. We all know that when we respond the outcome comes from a place of clarity therefore the decisions, we make will deliver a better outcome.

Today I share with you the ability to make certain what is uncertain so you can change what responding looks like for you.

Choosing what you see to what you do

We all have the ability to pause and question ourselves, to ask if we have a blind spot and then to act on that. Leaving it for another day makes our action one of “reaction” so as you pause to better understand what I am sharing with you now; will have made the choice to step forward and plan so that you respond?

Our ability to evolve, comes through pausing and recognising what is happening within you, just as much as what is happening to those around you.

No matter how much you know, there is always more to learn. Those around us can provide added value and a different perspective. It is through these interactions, discussions, and these moments of reflection that we gain more insight, become more creative and begin the process of innovation.

I have been privileged to be entrusted by many influential people over the many whom have their own wealth of knowledge and in these engagements, I have learnt the power of always seeking out someone else who can help navigate and enhance your ability to know more. Their desire to seek out advice and guidance reflects their humility in better understanding others and discovering more of the “GREY” parts that sit between their BLACK & WHITE. Their strength is to seek out a different lens and to be open to “what else?” These amazing humans have gifted me the insight of yearning to learn more and to do more.

Creating your certainty

No matter who you are, opening the door to a new voice and a new perspective allows you the opportunity to create and innovate. It is through friction and differences that new things are discovered so if you want certainty, you must be prepared to welcome what else may be out there that is different and to be open to potential.

  • When you employ more people like you – you see what you already know.

  • When you listen to people who agree with you – you will not hear a different perspective.

  • When you follow a process that has worked historically you will not open the door for disruption, innovation, change and efficiencies.

  • When you make decisions and don’t ask for the input you may need to go back to the start and begin again.

We all have the ability to be certain of things. We just need the framework and the right people to show us how we can play and have joy with the GREY parts that sit in between our BLACK and WHITE so that we can create our own certainty.
