Please introduce yourself to our readers and share a glimpse into your life.

My name is Esther Janssen, and I am a certified Tantra massage therapist specialising in women’s trauma healing. My heart and mind are devoted to creating my lovingly illustrated upcoming book when I’m not engaged in this beautiful profession. I aim to give you a deeper insight into the mindful and unintentional art of touch based on the teachings of Tantra. Crafted with care and passion strengthens your connection to your feminine primal power. I wish you to feel encouraged to face your vulnerabilities and traumas, immerse yourself in a world where you can feel your body, honour your Yoni, ignite your sensual femininity, and celebrate self-love. You’ll find me in nature, accompanied by my beloved dog, when I want to relax. These moments are pure freedom for me; it’s about simply moving, connecting with the earth, feeling the beauty of nature, and recharging.

What is your mission and vision? Could you give our readers a glimpse?

A tantra massage is fantastic energetic bodywork that releases blockages and can restore your emotional balance. We also honour the deep connection between the body’s chakras, these vital energy centres that guide us on a path of self-discovery. For more information on this topic, please see.

I want to give you insight into my tantric massages and the magical world they can open up for you so that you, too, can find a source of self-discovery, self-love, and healing in this intuitive and loving art of touch. I am an empathic being who will hear, see, accept, and appreciate you and all your concerns and feelings without judgment. My expertise can help you become aware of your beauty and power (again).

I have a calling to contribute to the healing process of women and couples and the collective field. I am dedicated to clearing up misinformation about Tantra and Yoni as well as breaking taboos around female sexuality by showing you the incredible magic your Yoni possesses. My vision is that all women should be seen, heard, accepted, and healed of all their issues. I want to create a world where women can reclaim their power, live their full potential, and be one with their sensual femininity again. Let me take you on a magical journey into the world of Tantra so we can open up the possibility of healing each other and creating a world full of free, self-loving, self-confident and sensual women who honour their Yoni.

Your magical transformation begins with the gift of my music. As you close your eyes during your massage, you become one with the melodic resonance. Your hands move in graceful synchrony on the body, dancing upon the waves of energy, generating a symphony of sensations that tenderly caress the soul

In your YouTube video, “From Wounded to Tantra Massage Healer,” you talk about having a cold childhood. Do you want to tell us about it?

I was born in the Netherlands in March ’74. My country is a marvellous place with much freedom to develop wonderfully. On the other hand, my home was a stark contrast to this. I perceived my mother as a manic-depressive narcissist who inflicted a lot of psychological violence on me as a child, coupled with a lot of coldness and emotional manipulation.

My father, a soft and empathetic man, ought to have been a good counterbalance to this negativity. But apparently, I wasn’t the only one who suffered from my mother’s toxic nature because my father drifted into the arms of another woman and left us. Regrettably, his new wife didn’t like my brother and me, and as my father had never learned to stand up for himself and others, he broke off contact with us completely, which broke my heart into a thousand pieces.

As neither parent was a reliable support in my life, I was forced to grow up quickly and take on responsibility for myself. I worked hard and sought an escape in the party scene with friends an escape from the emotional coldness I was experiencing at home. Daydreams of travelling offered me another refuge. But these were escapes, not remedies. After a few years, I reached a point where I could no longer bear the burden of my emotional trauma. I saw an ad in the newspaper where a Dutch agency was looking for women to dance in Tokyo, and a week later, I flew to Japan.

Wow, you just left everything behind. Now we are curious: How was life for a dancer?

Thanks to my career as a professional dancer, my childhood dream of travelling the world became a reality. I have lived and worked in 13 countries and have been on the road for seven years. I am deeply grateful for this time because experiencing all these countries and places and the different cultures and languages has broadened my horizons profoundly and gifted me with a deep sense of freedom.

For a long time, my life was one big party with many beautiful, funny, and crazy times, and we dancers had an incredible connection with one another. We often had deep and personal conversations, as many came from broken families.

But unfortunately, these are not the only things that have shaped my life. Working at night also has its dark side, and I have had many painful experiences. During my time as a dancer, I was raped, sexually harassed, insulted, denigrated, criticised, and threatened. Because of my size and strength, I was always ready to defend the more petite girls, but I was still beaten and groped at times. I even received death threats from drunken and aggressive men.

The most horrible experience of my life was undoubtedly my experience in Athens when I was held captive. For several days, several women and I were trapped in the clutches of an organised group of what I think were human traffickers. My friend and I escaped this desperate situation by some miracle we fled the country. We were lucky to regain our freedom; we barely got away.

You've certainly been through a lot. After you stopped working as a dancer, you found yourself in Switzerland. What did you do there, and how did you get into Tantra?

A few years later, I found my way into a large fitness studio, where I worked as a wellness masseuse and fitness and personal trainer.

And after a few more years, I became head of the wellness department. I put a lot of time and effort into growing the department from five people and only a few appointments to a team of 15 and a full schedule. I was very successful, but eventually, I burnt out; I could no longer sleep, had no more energy, and had lost my zest for life.

My doctor was very concerned. They put me on sick leave for two weeks and strongly advised me to make an appointment with a psychologist.

I had already booked and paid for a beginner’s tantra massage course months earlier. I thought it might help my recovery, so I went.

On the third day, during a yoni massage by a man, all the repressed assaults and rape broke out of me. I cried and hyperventilated in front of a classroom full of people I had just met. The experience was startling to me. I returned home ashamed and sad. On the one hand, I had been taught not to cry in front of others, and on the other hand, all these traumas that I had repressed for years were suddenly very present for me again.

Fortunately, I had already made my first appointment with my psychologist, which took place shortly afterwards. At first, we focused on my work as a wellness manager, and it was quickly apparent that I had burnout and depression.

Then my psychologist asked me an important question: do you love yourself?

I couldn’t answer this question. I had no self-love and wasn’t good at setting boundaries. And because of my toxic upbringing, I also had a lot of narcissistic relationships.

Slowly, I began to realise that my burnout and depression were the result of years of repressing my traumas. Acknowledging them was essential to my personal growth, but it was a difficult process. At some point in therapy, I got so caught up in my traumas that my psychologist noticed that my mood became even darker and more depressed than before, and we increased the frequency of my therapy sessions. Additionally, she recommended I try to heal my traumas via tantra massage sessions.

Tell us about your training as a Tantra massage therapist. What was it like with all the traumas you went through, and how did you find your calling?

So, I attended more tantra massage courses for women to heal the trauma in my body. After several classes, I asked the head of the school if I could do an official tantra massage diploma for women only. Because I didn’t want to be touched by a man on my healing path. Unfortunately, they refused at first.

After a few more courses, I emailed the school again, asking them to make an exception for me for the diploma, and told them a bit more about my personal traumas. To my great joy, this time, they agreed. Consequently, I am the first and, so far, the only person allowed to earn this tantra massage diploma for women only.

When I talked about my vision of a women-only tantra massage practice, I got a sobering reality check. At this school, which has been in business for fifteen years, 99% of the clientele is male; some teachers have never had women in their practice, and others maybe once a month.

I felt transported back to my childhood and relationships, when I was always told, “You can’t do that” whenever I voiced a dream. But I had learned to hold on to my visions and to trust the fire burning inside me. So, I began to manifest and realise my vision of a sacred space to heal and honour femininity, changing the narrative and ultimately following my true purpose.

During my four years of post-traumatic growth and healing, I have learned that living through trauma and coping with traumatic situations is a unique experience that can linger not only in the mind but also in the body; it can affect you for years afterwards. Also, to truly heal trauma, you have to confront the most vulnerable parts of yourself. My healing journey with Tantra has helped me gain a stronger self-awareness, much more self-love, and essential trust, as well as find my soul family, dream job, and a peaceful life. It is my mission to give all the wounded women on this earth the same opportunity to finally feel comfortable in their bodies again, to love themselves, and to develop their femininity fully.

What issues do women and couples come to you with?

The range of issues I’ve seen is substantial. Since starting my tantra massage training in 2018, I have been able to accompany several hundred women on their unique journeys to self-love and self-determination and share in the unfolding of their sensual femininity and strength.

It is touching and fulfilling that women seek me out in many different life situations. With my empathic nature, I pick them up with all their concerns and feelings, listen without judgment, and give them the feeling of being safe and cared for.

I work so that everyone can go on their own journey and float across the bridge of the sensual, loving, attentive, and unintentional art of touching the Tantra into a world full of magic, love, and healing.

The diversity of my clients includes those who dive in out of pure curiosity. Others long for a fulfilled sexuality a place where they are seen, held, and valued, where they learn to let go, enjoy, and receive. Some discover the magic of their Yoni and are allowed to experience an utterly unintentional orgasm.

In particular, women who are deeply wounded by experiences such as miscarriages, traumatic births, rape, child abuse, psychological violence, or genital mutilation can find a source of relief and healing through the unintentional and loving touch of tantra massage.

Tantra massage offers couples a fantastic opportunity to embark on a journey of self-discovery, deepen communication of their own needs, and meet and connect on a completely new and appreciative level. This extraordinary journey together can be healing and transformative, especially for issues such as loss of libido after childbirth or an unfulfilled desire to have a child.

Wow, that is so beautiful. What does your work as a Tantra masseuse trigger in you?

It is an extraordinary and fulfilling journey to accompany women and couples on their path to healing, self-love, and unfolding their inner power. Every woman who comes to me carries a unique story and a unique truth, and it is my calling and joy to assist them on their path of transformation and healing.

Do you have any other messages you’d like to share with our readers?

In my work as a healer and companion, I live in deep gratitude and spirituality. It is a joy for me to contribute to the healing and well-being of these women and the female collective and to open the possibility of understanding oneself and one’s needs better. May every step on your path be accompanied by love and healing.
