Jodi-Kay Edwards, Brand Manager

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

Whether you think you have a brand or not, you do. I’m Jodi-KayEdwards, Brand Manager, Fractional CMO, and digital strategist for CEOs and small to medium-sized enterprises. Ever since I learned the power of personalization and personal branding. I’ve been able to leverage my social media platforms to build business-changing connections.

I’m fascinated by the human mind, sales psychology, and understanding why humans do what we do. A lot of what I help others with is my true passion. I can’t help but look at most things through an analytical lens. I’m a Libra, so I’m all about balance and creating a life that feels good! This definitely helps me in the brand marketing and personal development department when it comes to helping CEOs create a business and life that they love.

Can you provide an overview of your business and the services/products offered on Behind The Scenes Agency? What sets your business apart from others in the industry?

Behind The Scenes Agency is a dynamic marketing agency that specializes in providing strategic marketing solutions for CEOs and SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises). We offer a range of services, including brand management, digital marketing, photography, videography, content marketing and distribution, as well as fractional CMO services. Our mission is to empower our clients with the tools and strategies they need to thrive in the digital landscape with done-for-your marketing solutions.

What sets Behind The Scenes Agency apart from others in the industry is our personalized approach and deep commitment to understanding our client's unique needs and challenges. Blah, blah, blah but how do we actually do that right? Using our BTS MarketingMap, we’re able to provide our clients with a full business audit within seven days of their investment with us and share with them a personalized plan for growth. This way the projects and tasks our team works on is transparent with a tangle delivery date. Our business model allows us to be a company’s entire marketing department, or we do a deep dive to hire and train an in-house team with our frameworks, policies, and procedures. This changes the trajectory of businesses for years to come long after we’ve done our work.

Reason being, we take the time to truly get to know their businesses, industry landscapes, and target audiences. As a boutique firm, we generally work with only 3-4 clients per year if they opt into our Fractional CMO package. By tailoring our strategies and services to each client, we ensure that their brand voice is amplified, their online presence is strengthened, and their marketing efforts yield tangible results. We also pride ourselves on our dedication to transparent communication, collaboration, and delivering exceptional value. We let the numbers do the talking for us. What is Brand Marketing and how can companies benefit from this strategy?

Instead of telling you, let me show you. Answer this, do you prefer Coke, Pepsi, or Fiji? Geico or Progressive, Chanel or Costco? The reason I ask is because the success of each of these companies relies on their brand marketing. Your decisions is based off a collection of personal preferences, desires and emotional cues.

These brands aren’t just selling you products and services. They’re selling a message, a belief, and an identity. It’s called “off-brand” for a reason. There's a reason you prefer Dr. Pepper over Dr. Thunder; it’s not just the taste. It’s the familiarity and the brand loyalty. When you’re not focused on being the cheapest in your industry, the right people in your marketplace will invest in you. Our niche is luxury branding and we understand it well. Brand marketing teaches us that the secret to standing out in your industry is by standing for something.

Before you go to market your brand on social media, learn how to tell a story that fosters a connection. To generate more impressions we have to learn how to leave a lasting impression. A logo isn’t meaningful until the brand messaging adds meaning. Make your digital marketing mean something. When you’re able to market in a way that connects (visit Wendy’s Twitter feed), you’re now memorable. That is the best competitive advantage a brand could have.

When people remember your brand that means you’ve been able to capture their attention, build an emotional connection, stand out in their minds from competitors, foster customer engagement, increase brand awareness, and drive customer loyalty. I prefer to create this connection with my personal brand and bring qualified leads back to my business and services naturally while our ads market directly to our target clients. It creates an amazing system where I get paid to be me. That’s what I want more CEOs and SMEs to experience. The freedom to authentically be, the freedom to live life on their own terms and the freedom in their business to show up as an authority in the digital marketplace and still generate leads and opportunities. This is the secret sauce to how we help CEOs get seen and get paid.

What was the inspiration behind starting Behind The Scenes Agency? What motivated you to create this website and build your business?

As soon as I got back from training in the Army, I decided to start my consulting business. I was stepping away from 10+ years in Human Resources and wanted to bring corporate structure to startups. If entrepreneurs equipped themselves with the tools to succeed, there would be more businesses making a difference in this world. This realization fueled my motivation to create a platform that would bridge the gap and provide accessible, high-quality marketing solutions to propel businesses forward so entrepreneurs could experience more life, more time freedom, more fulfillment and go on to do more things in the world. What project are you most excited about working on right now? Our clients are always up to amazing things. Currently, our agency is involved with a variety of projects ranging from preparing a client for her TV show, leading a 16+ marketing team through a new service launch, creating graphics for our artists music release plans, consulting CEOs on how to prepare for Ted Talks, news features, and celebrity partnerships. A win for our clients is a win for us! I’m always excited about the project of me as well. Each day, week, month, and year I’m evolving into the type of CEO I once looked up to. Life is flowing right now, and I’m excited I get to create this reality for myself and help others do the same. Where can we find you?

I’m on all platforms as Jodi-Kay Edwards. If you have a LinkedIn, I’d love to connect with you there. Currently, I’m giving away all our company SOPs at no cost and walking startups through the process of creating more structure, systems and sales for their business over on The CEO Suite Podcast.
