These days it feels like all the news is about death, shortages, fear and lack. Scientists are only beginning to uncover the toll the pandemic has had on our health. Isolation has a high price to pay.

About 33 percent of adults experienced feelings of loneliness worldwide. This means that one in three adults is also struggling. Loneliness has many negative health effects:

  • Loneliness increases the likelihood of mortality by 26%

  • The effect of loneliness and isolation on mortality is comparable to the impact of well-known risk factors such as obesity and has a similar influence as cigarette smoking

  • Loneliness is associated with an increased risk of developing coronary heart disease and stroke

  • Loneliness increases the risk of high blood pressure

There is a price to pay when we aren’t connecting in circles. As humans, we crave connection. We love to share stories. We want to build experiences and memories.

Inspiration Contagion is Born

Shortly after the pandemic shut the world down, I sat down on my meditation cushion. I was struggling with what I could do to make a difference.

I had been considering writing a book for years but every time I attempted it, I felt resistance. So this time, I thought how could I do this differently?

As I sat in silence, it came to me!

Why not build a podcast called Inspiration Contagion?!

I would interview inspiring leaders who had overcome adversity. Capture their stories of inspiration and hope. Define inspiration and how to apply it to our everyday lives. And even consider using some of these interviews as case studies for one of the books in this series.

In June 2020, I launched my podcast, Inspiration Contagion. Since then, I have interviewed over 50 inspiring leaders around the world. I find that with every interview and every story, I am inspired. I learn something new. I see a fresh perspective.

This is what we are missing in the news. We need to share stories of inspiration and hope. Yes, there’s struggle and challenge as well.

But there is always hope. There is always a new perspective we can view life from. There are always new options and possibilities to explore.

I hope you too will join our movement. Follow the Inspiration Contagion podcast on your favorite podcast player. If you like what you hear, share it with someone else. Let’s spread inspiration and light amongst the darkness and fear in the world.

The Birth Story of My First Book

A year after launching the Inspiration Contagion podcast, I met Laura Di Franco with Brave Healer Productions.

We met through mutual contacts on LinkedIn. As soon as we connected, I knew I had found my publisher and coach for this process. I love when serendipity connects me to amazing people.

When I told her about the book I wanted to write, she asked, “What are you waiting for? Why don’t you write it now?” I responded with all my excuses, “Well I don’t have the time right now. I haven’t found the right publisher or a book writing coach. I am very busy.”

She didn’t accept my objections or excuses. In fact, she busted through every single one of them. She helped me break down my idea into 3 books. This made it less overwhelming. She gave me the tools to put together outlines for each book. And she provided me with a framework that helped me breakthrough my overwhelm.

My first book within the Inspiration Contagion series will be published in January 2022. I am so excited to share my story in this book!

The first volume is Inspiration Contagion, Health Secrets for Raving Success. We are aiming for bestseller status amongst several categories. Bestsellers only become bestsellers when we band together as a community...

How You Can Spread Inspiration

You have an opportunity to spread inspiration and health today! Together we can spread it like a contagion across the world. But it takes a community.

When you join the book launch team, you are joining a movement.

A movement for light, inspiration and hope. A movement to help connect people amongst the campfire. An invitation to share stories to heal and transform.

I hope you will join me and thousands of others on this journey. As a launch team member, you will also get early access to the book, a discounted ebook copy and much more.

I look forward to sharing a cup of coffee or cocoa with you. Let’s band together and spread light as we sit around the campfire. Let’s share our stories of inspiration, growth and transformation today.

I would love to hear from YOU.
