Gratitude is a high vibration feeling and although is everywhere nowadays and many people talk about it, sometimes we do not really take the time to feel grateful, quite the opposite, we tend to repeat the words “thank you” rather than really feeling them.

The effects of gratitude have been studied by scientists and among the benefits of being thankful we find improvements in mental health like feeling less stressed, anxious and depressed, in fact, gratitude increases our state of happiness significantly.

I propose here a different approach to gratitude, because it is a high vibration or a high frequency feeling and we should be able to acknowledge it with our hearts.

The following practice can be done in four days, however the idea is to repeat it constantly and even add your own list of things to be thankful for.

DAY ONE

We are going to start with the smallest part of us, with our cells. Our cells are the ones that make up our bodies, they form our biology and are responsible for our life. If we take the time to be thankful to them, our body is going to feel that energetic recharge and function better.

Please, write down in a journal: thank you, my dear cells, for making my body to function well. You can also set an intention for them like “I promise to look after you and always express my gratitude for you” (I invite you to create your own intention, one that resonates with you).

DAY TWO

This day we say thank you to our heart. Yes! And I have a question for you, do you listen to your heart?

When I am talking about listening to our heart I mean not only listening to your intuition, but also listening to it physically. Your heart tells you things, your heart knows, absolutely, but your heart has also a sound, a rhythm and it is good to pause and listen to it, it is important to understand if our heart is going too fast or too slow and learn to relax and find its pulsation. How? Just sit down and place your hand on your heart area and feel it, listen intently.

Our heart is where the energy of love sits, then our biological heart is only a representation of an energetic heart. Is not this beautiful?

Please, write down in your journal: thank you, my dear heart, for showing me the way to my inner self and set an intention for it. Be creative, your own heart will tell you.

DAY THREE

Have you ever thought about the four elements being part of our bodies? No? Well, there is water, soil, air and fire present in our bodies, our own cells are part of a whole eco system that brings us to life.

It is said that close to 75%, maybe more, of our body is water. Nowadays we know, because of the water experiment done by famous Dr. Masaru Emoto, that water is affected by words, sounds, music, then being grateful to the liquid running inside us makes sense.

Soil is present in us via minerals and the food we consume. Our body forms a unit with planet Earth and when we pass away, our body becomes soil.

Air allows us to breathe and ventilate our organs.

Fire is represented by our drive to live, by the passion expressed in our daily activities. Our heart is full of fire, it makes us to move forward.

Please, write down in your journal: thank you, dear water, soil, air and fire inside me, for allowing me to live fully. Set an intention too.

DAY FOUR

There is a fifth element present in this whole equation, because gratitude does not go anywhere without LOVE.

I am not talking here about “human” love, which is a wonderful thing too, but rather I am referring to love as the invisible energy that keeps the world together.

Love unites everything, acting as a glue that attaches life to the universe, to the Source of all. Love is what we inhale and exhale, we feel it and we expand it. Love links us to our common origin, that of energy beings, part of the rhythm of true life.

Please write down in your journal: thank you, dear Love, for being the link between myself and the Source (God if you prefer). Set your intention.

I hope you can see how being grateful for those hidden or unseen parts of us can bring you happiness, opulence, peace and love. Gratitude is applicable to work and life, to everything we do. Thank you!
