Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

Hey there! I'm excited to get to know you better too. So, let me introduce myself. My name is Lise, and I'm a passionate fitness, nutrition, and sleep coach. When I'm not helping my clients achieve their goals, you can find me playing Australian Rules Football, reading and attempting creative projects (right now it is crocheting animals and getting back into painting). Family is really important to me, and I love spending quality time with them. I'm a firm believer in living a balanced life, so I make sure to find time for my hobbies and passions while helping others improve their overall well-being.

What role does education and empowerment play in your coaching process? Do you provide clients with resources and knowledge to make informed decisions about their fitness, nutrition, and sleep habits?

When it comes to my coaching process, education and empowerment play a significant role. I see myself more as a facilitator rather than a direct coach. I firmly believe that the individual is the one who will be putting in the work, so it's crucial for them to take an active role in deciding their goals and the path to achieve them. We have open discussions about their personalized fitness, nutrition, and sleep plans, considering their unique goals and lifestyles.

I stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in the fields of fitness, nutrition, and sleep. This evidence-based approach allows us to have meaningful conversations about what has worked in the past and whether it's a good fit for their future. Active participation is key for everyone I work with.

Moreover, I provide my clients with access to resources and websites focused on providing best practices. If someone is interested in learning more information on their own time, I encourage them to explore these resources. It's all about empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their own fitness, nutrition, and sleep habits.

Remember, the journey towards better health is a collaborative effort, and I'm here to support and guide you every step of the way!

How do you stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the fields of fitness, nutrition, and sleep? Can you provide examples of how you integrate new findings into your coaching methods?

Keeping up-to-date with the latest research and best practices is crucial in providing the best coaching experience for my clients. I make it a priority to stay connected with professional networks, attend conferences, and actively engage in continuing education programs. Additionally, I regularly read scientific journals and follow reputable experts in the field.

Integrating new findings into my coaching methods is an ongoing process. For example, if a new study suggests a more effective exercise technique or a breakthrough in nutrition science, I carefully evaluate the research and assess its applicability to my clients' needs. If it aligns with their goals and lifestyles, I gradually incorporate these new findings into their personalized plans. It's all about staying informed and evolving my coaching methods to provide the best possible guidance.

Can you share success stories from clients who have achieved their fitness, nutrition, and sleep-related goals through your coaching? How do you measure and track progress?

Absolutely! I've had the pleasure of working with so many incredible clients who have achieved amazing results. One success story that comes to mind is a friend with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), who came to me because she was looking to lose some weight so she and her partner could conceive. Through our coaching sessions, we developed a plan that allowed her to become consistent with her nutrition and get her to explore more food options, while also building a love and appreciation for movement. Near the end of summer, she was starting to lose some weight, but was starting to feel as though she could handle the challenges of life that she was struggling with before. blended her love for dancing with cardio and strength training exercises.

Measuring and tracking progress is essential to ensure my clients are on the right track. I use a combination of methods, including regular check-ins, progress photos, body measurements, performance assessments and enjoyment/ satisfaction scales depending on the client. It's important to celebrate both small victories and major milestones along the way, as these achievements provide motivation and reinforce the progress made.

How do you address potential challenges or setbacks that clients may face during their fitness, nutrition, or sleep journey? How do you provide support and motivation to keep clients on track?

Challenges and setbacks are a natural part of any journey towards better health, and I'm here to provide unwavering support. When clients face obstacles, I believe in open and honest communication. We discuss their concerns, reassess their goals if needed, and work together to develop strategies to overcome those challenges.

It's important to create a safe and judgment-free space where clients feel comfortable sharing their struggles.

To keep clients motivated and on track, I provide continuous encouragement and celebrate their progress. We set realistic goals and break them down into smaller achievable milestones. I also ensure that my clients have access to resources, such as educational materials, motivational podcasts, and online support communities.

By fostering a sense of community and accountability, I help them stay motivated and committed to their journey.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

If there's one thing I could change about the industry, it would be to promote a shift from quick-fix solutions to sustainable lifestyle changes. There's often an emphasis on short-term results, which can lead to unhealthy habits and unsustainable practices. I believe in empowering individuals to adopt long-term, balanced approaches to fitness, nutrition, and sleep. By focusing on education, mindset shifts, and personalized plans, we can create lasting changes that support overall well-being.
