"Let today be the day you love yourself enough to no longer just dream of a better life, let it be the day you act upon it." Steve Maraboli

Do you like who you are? Do you even know who you are? Do you know your weaknesses and your strengths? Do you dwell on your weaknesses or your shortcomings? Do you ever think about your strengths?

A lot of people go through life feeling like something is wrong with them. They constantly focus on their weaknesses. They don't feel that they are good enough. Don't go through life feeling like something is wrong on the inside. If we continue to focus on what we are not, our flaws, and our weaknesses, it might keep us from moving forward in life.

We won't apply for a better job, we won't take a chance on a new relationship or friendship, we won't pursue our dream or we won't make an important move to another city or country. We will stay stuck where we are. Be confident that you are good enough as you are. All of us have strengths and weaknesses. All of us have some areas in our lives that could use a little improvement. Other areas might need a little updating because we all carry around a lot of baggage or conditioning that has become completely outdated and might need some upgrading. Stop focusing on what is wrong with you and start focusing on what is right with you. Quit dwelling on your flaws and stop over-analyzing your weaknesses. Stop beating yourself up because you are not where you want to be in life. As long as we live we can continue to learn and grow. We are never a finished product. As long as we are breathing we can learn new things. We can always continue to expand and to grow, if we want to. Learn to enjoy where you are today. But decide to take some daily action steps that will move you closer to where you want to be and who you want to be, in the future. We all have weaknesses and we all have areas in our lives that need improvement. But being down on yourself is never the answer and it will definitely not make you feel better about yourself. Always walking around with a nagging feeling that you are not good enough and that you will never measure up it a terrible way of living your life, and it will definitely not make you feel any better and it will not allow you to move forward. You must learn to accept yourself, right where you are. Faults and all. Start today by being a little kinder to yourself. Thank yourself and your body that you have made it this far. Be grateful. Appreciate yourself and focus on what is right with you.

Personal growth and acceptance isn't easy and it never happens as quickly as we want it to happen. But most of the time we are not in charge on how long something will take. We are in charge of taking one step at a time. Put one foot in front of the other and keep on moving. If we do this, we will eventually get to where we want to go. Think of it like this... you can never get away from yourself. Wherever you go... there you are. You can go to work, get a new job, you can be with friends and family, you can change relationships, you can go outside and you can even go on vacation but you always have to take YOU with you. You are the only person that you can't get away from. It doesn't matter where you are... you take yourself with you. You can get away from your parents, spouse, children, your boss, friends, or neighbors but you can never get away from you. If you don't like you, your life will be miserable. There might be a few things wrong with you, you have a few flaws, who doesn't. But I bet you have a lot more things right with you than wrong with you. How about starting to focus on those things. Keep your flaws in perspective. Don't make them bigger than they are. We all have flaws. Stop comparing yourself to others. Sometimes it looks like other people have a lot going on in their lives. They look healthy, happy, popular, and rich... at least if we judge from the photos on Facebook and Instagram.

But is that really the truth? You don't know that, so stop comparing yourself and your life to other people's life. I know a lot of people tell themselves that they will happy after they lose some weight, get the perfect partner, get a better job, have more money or get rid of an addiction... only then will their life be perfect.

As soon as you overcome one weakness there will be something else that you must improve on. It will be a never-ending battle. Don't go through life not liking yourself. You are stuck with you Learn to feel good about yourself right where you are today. Enjoy your journey. Also, remember if you don't like yourself, how can you like someone else? And how can you expect someone else to like you? If you don´t like YOU? Don't go around being against yourself.
