Instagram Extends Marketplace Tool to Eight New Countries

Creators in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Japan, India, and Brazil will now have access to Instagram’s marketplace tool.

The tool allows creators and brands to connect for paid partnerships or ads; and has been tested initially in the US. There, the trial launched in 2022, and has seen thousands of creations join in, says Techcrunch. Features rolled out in April last year included a priority inbox for creators; and an option for brands to publish structured project briefs to the creator marketplace. This latest expansion includes the option for “Chinese export brands to connect with creators outside of China”, adds Techcrunch.

Invites for both creators and brands are expected to be sent in the eight new countries in the coming weeks. In a blog post on its website, Instagram said: “Instagram’s creator marketplace helps brands find the right creators and helps creators get discovered by brands. We’re excited to continue evolving creator marketplace and partnership ads to offer even more ways for brands and creators to connect, partner, and grow.”
