One thing I have always known to be true, even if I resisted it for the longest time… is that my body tells me to stop before it makes me stop. Does your body speak to you? Do you listen?

As Entrepreneurs, passionate Coaches, and Service Providers, we often think that our businesses are the priority because without being actively pursuing our goals, we’re unconsciously afraid of setting ourselves one or two steps back from the momentum we’ve generated.

And this isn’t a surprise when you consider that we are in an age where keeping up with algorithms and ongoing engagement is what marketing has become. It’s easy for us to fall into the trap of thinking that the only way to succeed is to hustle. The only way to make it in business is to be so busy all the time while enduring burnout as if it’s a badge of honor.

It’s not.

There’s no honor in being exhausted while you work.

There’s no honor in doing mindless busywork just so you can tell yourself you have been “productive.”

There’s no honor in giving your clients the energetic scraps that you have left over after selfishly and confusingly putting yourself through a shit show of imbalance.

And let’s be honest, you didn’t escape your 9-5 to hustle 24/7 as an entrepreneur. Well, the only way to make sure this isn’t the reality you live is to do things differently.

It’s time to shift your mindset and make some simple tweaks to how you approach business and life, so you can give the world the best of you and not just what’s left of you.

Here’s how to blend Bliss, Business, and Breaks so that you can have money flowing your way, clients happy, and your body in love with you.

Put your needs first

Fuel your body and rest your mind. When you give yourself the time, space and rest to rejuvenate and recover from your work, you will be able to generate the energy to show up in bigger ways. Take that hour-long lunch, turn the computer off, go for a walk into nature, read a book, have coffee with a friend in the middle of the day… whatever this may look like for you, spend time dedicated to the simple pleasures of life that fill your cup. This will not only generate energy but also supercharge your creativity and productivity.

Only work when you’re inspired to work.

Inspired Action goes a long way. If you have ever attempted to sit in front of your computer “trying” to do your work, but not being able to do your work and wasting hours festering over why you can’t just do it… then this one is FOR YOU. When we are in a funk, uninspired and lack motivation, we are unproductive. In this state of being, the work you will produce is mediocre and well it will take you much longer. This means you are essentially wasting time. Don’t! Take a break, nourish your soul, then come back to your work in an inspired state and get the work done in far less time, with more intention and deliver the quality work that you are known for.

Work in intervals

Another great way to be more productive instead of mindlessly working is to work in intervals of 25 minutes, Then take a 5-minute break without checking your phone and jump back into another 25-minute interval. You can play with the length of time on this. Sometimes, I like to go for 55 minutes and then take a 5-min break.

I’d like to invite you to try this on today and tell me how it went for you. I always love to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and my community, so come follow me over on IG @theresalambertcoaching and let’s connect and have a conversation about this.

Blending bliss, business and breaks will change the way you run your business and help you to strike the balance between productivity and rest. Burnout and being busy are not a badge of honour. Let’s change the way success looks like together.
