Danielle Levy, Business Coach & Strategist

What inspired you to transition from the corporate world to becoming a business consultant for online business owners? My actual transition happened by mistake as I transitioned back to working from graduate school. It wasn't that I had a vision to be a consultant, but I knew that I couldn't go back to work doing things I wasn't deeply passionate about within organizations that I felt were less than what they could be. One consult led to the next, and my passion for what I do now continued to build. It has been the most unexpected yet wonderful surprise to be here. Can you share a defining moment from your origin story that significantly shaped your approach to entrepreneurship and consulting? When I first started consulting, I brought a set of skills but severely lacked in others. Transparency with my clients (especially with difficult conversations early on) and building an incredible network have given me the confidence to do what I do best and be okay with not being the expert in everything. What has been the biggest lesson for you in running your own business? Most things I can figure out, or I know someone who can help me. A lot of tasks in business feel daunting, but really, when broken down, aren't that bad...and learning new things can be so empowering. You talk a lot about transforming business owners from being "Chief of Everything Officers" to "Chief Executive Officers." What advice can you offer entrepreneurs looking to make this shift and focus more on their vision? Don't be afraid to make the shift because you are afraid you will lose control of your business. You will gain so much clarity and confidence once you are out of the details of your business and have the brain space to process so much more. You'll probably fall in love with your business all over again. What is the driver that keeps you showing up for your business and your clients? Seeing my clients make their most significant impact. It's incredible the lives they are changing in the best possible ways.

What would you tell someone just starting out?

Keep going. To-do lists likely won't get done in full, plans won't work out as expected, mistakes will happen, and it's okay. It's the journey, the learning, the building of a legacy that is just a step at a time, no matter how big or small.
