Do not get stuck living in surviving. What is surviving? Surviving is doing just enough to get by. It is settling to satisfy and fulfill your basic needs. It believes in scarcity. Because of this scarcity mindset, you believe you have to fight for what you want. There is no sharing. Surviving means focus is to get through and by. There is no striving for more. You settle for what the world and others give you. Surviving does not require a lot of effort. With a mind on surviving, you allow worry, stress and panic to control your thoughts and actions. In contrast, thriving yields the highest return and results.

What is thriving?

Thriving is going above and beyond. It seeks to be impactful by helping and aiding others. It is going beyond you. You believe in abundance because you understand that there is more than enough for everyone. There is no lack of services or products because more can be made or created.

Thriving means that you aspire for more. Thinking is elevated by continuing to build and expand upon the picture you are painting. You are open to taking risks to achieve that yield the outcomes and results desired. You execute big actions because you believe and have faith.

Thriving requires effort and commitment. Committing to executing actions to achieve and realize desired results and outcomes. You make the way instead of waiting for others to make it for you.

Thriving isn't about making life comfortable, fun and happy; it's about finding purpose and making our own unique contribution. ‒Malcolm Stern

How can you move to thriving?

I give you five practices to incorporate to move to thriving.

  1. Change the words that you speak. Instead of saying “I will try”, say “I will.” Speak what will occur and happen. Speak with confidence and conviction.

  2. Look for opportunities. Do not wait for opportunities to come to you. You make opportunities.

  3. Eliminate the scarcity mindset. More products or services are available and can be made. Believe in more.

  4. Be mindful of the company that you keep. Surround yourself with others that are seeking to go above and beyond, not just toeing the line.

  5. Schedule and executive one monumental task each week. Determine what you need to do to keep moving the needle forward maximizing outcomes and results.

An opportunity for you.

For the next two months, I will be hosting and facilitating a growth experience to aid you in moving to thriving. Sign up today to attend and participate, investing in you. You will gain insight from well-known speakers such as John Maxwell, Eric Thomas, Ph.D., Dr. Tim Elmore, Paul Lencioni and Doris Kearns Goodwin.
