Work-life balance is important for everyone, but it can be especially challenging for women. Women are often expected to juggle the demands of their business with the responsibilities of home and family. This can lead to stress, burnout, and even health problems.

Here are four ways to scale your business with a better work-life balance:

Create seasons of rest and peak performance for your business and life

Most businesses have natural ebbs and flows of busy and slow seasons. Learn how to take advantage of each season to prevent burnout, increase productivity, and improve team culture.

Harness the power of your female physiology

As a female, your mind and body are not designed to be at peak performance all month long. Society has trained us to keep up with the 24-hour cycle of men, but your body is on a 28-day cycle. Each “season” in your cycle is made up of hormones that will change your productivity levels. When you understand how your body works, your productivity will improve.

Change your belief about work-life balance

Work-life balance does not mean everything will be a 50/50 balance all day every day. Think about balance in the big picture. Creating seasons of rest and peak performance within your month and year allows for an overall balance. Give each season an intention or purpose based on the natural ebbs and flows of your industry. This will give clarity on what to delegate, automate, and outsource in each season, so you can maintain the work-life balance you desire.

Tackle your fear of control

As a high achiever, it is hard to release control, making delegating, automating, and outsourcing much more difficult. When you get down to the root of why fear is driving your decisions, you will be able to empower the people around you to step up, so you can step away.

Now that we have shared ways to scale your business for better work-life balance, what about ways to reduce stress and prevent burnout at home?

There are a number of things that women can do. One is to set boundaries between their work and personal lives. This means not checking work emails or taking work calls outside of work hours. It also means taking time for yourself, whether it is going for a walk, reading a book, or spending time with friends and family.

Try these tips:

  • Set realistic expectations for yourself. Do not try to do everything perfectly or be the best at everything.

  • Delegate tasks whenever possible. This could mean hiring a babysitter, asking your partner or children to help with chores, or outsourcing undesirable tasks like house cleaning or preparing meals.

  • Take breaks when you need them. Get up and move around, step outside for fresh air, or take a few minutes to relax and clear your head.

  • Say no to things that do not support you or bring you joy. It is okay to turn down commitments if they are not in alignment or you don't have the time or energy for them.

  • Take care of yourself. Make sure you are getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, and exercising regularly.

  • Talk to someone you trust. If you are feeling overwhelmed, talk to a friend, family member, therapist, or other trusted person.

It is important to remember that you do not have to do it all. It is okay to ask for help, delegate tasks, or say no. It is also important to take care of yourself physically and mentally.

At Success Without Sacrifice, we are on a mission to revolutionize how female entrepreneurs do business.

Just like pro-sports teams have training plans designed to avoid burnout and injury and achieve peak performance, the RAMP Method™ gives female entrepreneurs a roadmap to structure their day, week, month, and year, so they can be in peak performance at the right time, instead of all the time.

The RAMP Method™ is a proprietary system created by the co-owner of Success Without Sacrifice, Cheree Sauer. Cheree saw a gap in the marketplace for female business owners. After working with high-performing athletes for 14 years, Cheree became an entrepreneur and experienced burnout. She recognized a need to help female business owners merge the gap between business and life. She brought her knowledge of business, sports psychology, sports training, and team performance into the entrepreneurial world to help female business owners continue their success without sacrificing themselves.

There is no one size fits all, which is why the team at Success Without Sacrifice, LLC will collaborate with you in a 1:1 capacity to help you create your RAMP Method™ roadmap that is specific to your business and life goals.
