René Estes

René Estes is a third-generation entrepreneur. Her father tested for both the Gemini and Apollo missions making her a child of the space race. Her maternal grandfather invented one of the first ice cream filling machines in the 1950s. These are her roots.

René is a filmmaker with coaching in her background. She holds a dual degree in film theory and film production, a Bachelor’s of Art, and a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts (BA/BFA) from The University of Colorado Boulder.

She is best known for idea synthesis, where multiple topics are combined to create a new. René Estes, The Video Mentor, came into being, combining coaching with filmmaking to serve her community so they can make professional videos for their business. The Video Mentor teaches companies how to create professional videos with the principles of filmmaking.
René’s desire for her clients is to understand why they want to shoot a scene. Who needs to be in that scene, where the location of that scene needs to be. What their audience needs to see and what they don’t need to see.

These are the foundational questions professional filmmakers ask of their films. The Video Mentor teaches you how to ask those questions and how to answer them.
