How do you create a lasting anything – business, relationship, wellbeing? By creating and re-creating positive habits that keep those areas alive and vibrant.

You are on a mission to change the world with the expertise and wisdom you have gathered over the years. It’s there, in front of your eyes, as a product or service that makes your heart sing of joy and pride. People you speak to about your product or service get excited and want to know more, and it feels just downright good to be speaking about it with others. The way to get it out to the masses is via an online platform, and the work starts to set things up. To get ready for the big launch into this new, exciting world.

Our lives change when we start our business and what we need in our lives changes too. How you lived before the birth of your business is shifting and fast! What you used to do no longer fits into your day, and those close to you are starting to notice. You are starting to notice, too, because you had not realized how much things would have to change or how many of your daily habits you had that was so on autopilot.

Some people around you resist the change, and even you are resisting some of your new ways. There is a new push-pull that feels foreign to you.

To succeed as you build your new life, you must be willing to look at your habits and decide what can stay and what must go. This means we need to become really good at establishing new habits and kicking those that no longer serve us.

When it comes to our habits, most of us have some that we know don’t serve us, some that do, and then there are habits needed for us to level up in our business and life.

What would it be like to be consistent in your productivity in your business to gain the momentum you want?

What would it feel like to consistently manage your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being so that nothing pushes you too far off your center?

There is effort required to live the life of an entrepreneur or consciously ambitious. Your business demands your passion coming through via your consistent positive habits, and getting it right will have your staff and clients in awe of your level of energy and commitment.

We are used to wellbeing habits, but what about the habits for being productive, present, and consistently purpose-driven? Let’s nail those too.

Did you know that on average, 40-45% of what we do each day are habits? So then, what is a habit? A habit is something that we do mostly on autopilot! No conscious decision. We just do it. Some will be good habits, and others will be not-so-good habits.

So that begs the question, do you know what your habits are?

In high performance, what we do a lot of is observing ourselves. Not from a self-conscious or judgemental place but to get to know ourselves better.

Why? Because we want to avoid:

  • Being pulled in all directions because others expect you to show up for them.

  • Getting stuck in habits that no longer serve us.

  • Feeling overwhelmed because everything feels important.

  • Listening too much to the critics – the external or the internal.

  • Getting frustrated or anxious over what feels like slow progress

Of course, when we see that in ourselves, we have the option to choose our action. To stay the same or try something new and fresh.

Okay, I am going to be vulnerable with you and share my most frustrating habit!

It is that I allow my mind to get stuck in frustration. It drains my energy and steals my personal power and sense of presence. Fortunately, it doesn’t happen as often as it used to because I am constantly honing my skill. But it is still there, and to be honest, I cannot afford it. Or better put, my business and clients require me to operate at my next level.

How? By accessing my practice to notice and call out, literally, that “the mind is at play again!” and then ask some uplifting questions to bring me back to the here and now.

At this point, it can be easy to beat ourselves up for our less-than-flattering habits.

Stop!

A really important point to remember here is this. At the very core of who you are, there is nothing to fix. Why? Because there is nothing wrong! We are who we are, and we always will be.

But there may be aspects of us that are pure goodness that may have been hidden by life experiences that hurt us in some way. That, in turn, may have caused us to decide to avoid that pain going forward, which in turn can become a certain habit.

Nothing wrong with that – I would just ask you to notice why?

So how do you hone your habits?

Here is the challenge, should you choose to accept it. This coming week I would like you to:

1. Write down your top 3 awesome habits.

2. Write down the top 3 most frustrating habits.

3. Choose the 1 of each.

4. Identify how you can make your most Awesome habit even better.

5. Identify how you can shift out of your most frustrating habit.

6. Set a plan for how you are going to do it.

7. Set a plan for how you will remember.

Why? Because in choosing to become an entrepreneur, you signed up for daily personal development so that you experience less stress and more joy and create a lasting business.

What would it be like to have free access to a program that takes you through the steps to get you ready to transition to your entrepreneur's life with less stress and getting more done?
