Having a social media presence is essential as a business owner and so is digital authority. It is no surprise that so many business owners prioritize their content creation. Meanwhile, if the time spent on it does not convert into sales, it is not a sustainable use of time. In this article, I will provide 5 easy ways to create content which converts into sales for your business.

1. Use small words

Many people who seek to establish themselves as the expert tend to resort to using terminology which is only known by people who are within their area of expertise. This may feel good to do, but it means that one’s messaging is then not comprehensible for those meant to benefit from the information. Here is the easiest way to approach it: Pay attention to the wording that your clients use while they are asking you questions. If many people of your target audience are using that wording, then it is plausible that others like that are asking themselves the very same question, and then they are most likely Googling that question too.

2. Provide step-by-step instructions

Abstract information is rarely helpful. Try to resist the temptation to indulge in unnecessary storytelling and rather focus on providing practical steps for your clients to go from their current situation to the desired one. This is also helpful in keeping your audience engaged in your content and to let them keep feeling rewarded as they are making progress through your content one step at a time. By dividing your content into different sections, you can communicate more effectively to both those with longer and shorter attention spans.

3. Be generous with sharing the information you posses

A key part to ensuring that your content generates interest in your product and/or service is from the very start providing your audience with information that actually helps them. A bad use of time with content would be for instance creating an article that only helps your audience halfway to achieving their objectives and then not providing them with the other half. This will leave your audience feeling frustrated. Rather, provide them with as much of your insights as possible from the start so that when you get the chance to speak with them, you already have their trust.

4. Make it visually appealing

Irregardles of how much valuable information you provide in your content, it needs to be aesthetically pleasing. Otherwise, it will get lost in the digital chaos of social media. Spend some time on proper structuring, the right imagery and right emojis. The small details make the big picture.

5. Incorporate a call-to-action

Once you have provided helpful information that leaves your audience feeling optimistic regarding the information you have provided, don’t be shy - incorporate a call to action! It doesn’t have to be overly complex; a straightforward call to action, like scheduling a meeting, usually works well!

By following these steps, you will increase the chances of your content converting into sales for your business. Meanwhile, the rest will be up to you as you get the chance to speak to your potential customers. Be aware of the fact that having content do sales for you is a dream of many entrepreneurs. Be persistent and diligent! Once you notice something that you can improve on, try it! Meanwhile, do not delete content that you have previously published for no reason. You need a ‘content-bank’ to establish your credibility.
