Many first- and second-generation adults know what it is to juggle family loyalty, silence around mental health, and the burden of unspoken expectations. Often, you become “the strong one,” always holding things together for others, but rarely feeling at ease within yourself. When emotional pain shows up as anxiety, low energy, or disconnection, it can feel impossible to voice how you feel, let alone heal. Rise Mental Health was created specifically for this reality. You deserve therapy where your cultural background, lived experience, and internal struggles are truly understood. The heart behind Rise comes from seeing just how many clients have grown up prioritizing everyone else’s needs. As the founder of Rise Mental Health, Saveen Sundrani, LCSW, recognized these patterns not just professionally, but from her own life.

Her childhood as a South Asian immigrant in Georgia meant navigating academic and community pressures, being “the responsible one” for her family, and handling her mother’s mental health struggles all while longing for a safe place to be honest about her own needs. Through extensive clinical training in EMDR, IFS, and trauma recovery and her own years of therapy, Saveen learned that authentic healing requires both proven therapeutic practice and a space where you never have to translate or justify your story. Rise Mental Health is the practice she once needed: a welcoming, judgment-free space where your full experience is honoured.

At Rise, our culturally-attuned and trauma-informed therapy is tailored for individuals in the Atlanta area and across Georgia and Texas. We offer therapy in English, Hindi, and Urdu, and understand the layered complexities of immigrant life, generational pain, and the desire to break cycles for yourself and future generations. Let Rise Mental Health support you in finding real relief, clearer boundaries, and the confidence to step into a life that feels more your own.
