How are you feeling today? Are you uber-excited for the day ahead? Are you buzzing with ideas and to-do lists that will benefit you? Are you grateful for your life and all of the experiences that guided you to where you are today? Or are you feeling lost, demotivated, and resentful of those who are joyfully skipping through the day with positivity and a beaming smile?

This article may have caught your eye if you are hoping for a promotion at work or if you are looking to build on your own business success.

However, I am not referring to career-related promotions here. I am talking about your upcoming promotion in life.

Life success isn’t measured by your ranking at work, the salary you bring home, or the number of followers you have on social media.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you are too focused on material things, how your life looks to others, and keeping up with the Joneses, then you have likely lost sight of what life is all about.

In the haze of technology, “social” devices, and online shopping, we are distancing ourselves more and more from a true connection with the earth, our heart, and our soul.

A successful life has health and peace at the forefront.

Laughing, smiling, and embracing the simple joys are where the focus should lie. Once you realise this, everything else will follow.

Wealth and status may come as bonus extras, but you should be aware that life is happening right now.

  • The more you chase something you don’t have, the more your precious life is passing by.

  • The attention you place on what you lack suggests that your life is not good enough, thus revealing the absence of true gratitude from your world.

Don’t be too busy wishing for more if you can’t even appreciate the simple luxuries that you do already have.

In my opinion, to be rich in life (rather than rich in monetary terms) is the ultimate goal.

If you have good health, a home, loved ones, and belongings – you are super rich.

You already have what many people around the world crave, so remember to be grateful for these riches.

The more appreciation you feel for your current life, the more success you will achieve.

Let’s break it down.

How many times a day do you:

  • Belly laugh?

  • Sit outdoors and look up to appreciate the sky and trees?

  • Give thanks for your meals and savour every mouthful? (As opposed to inhaling it in a flash and taking your fuel for granted.)

  • Thank your mode of transport for safely taking you from A to B?

If you can’t recall the last time you did any of the above, I urge you to take a deep breath, count your blessings, and start doing so.

Embrace your inquisitiveness and see the world through a child’s eyes!

On the other hand, how many times a day do you:

  • Complain about things?

  • Snap at someone close to you?

  • Feel anxious at the overwhelming demands of daily life?

  • Stress that you are tired?

If you answer yes to more of the second list, then try turning this around. Flip that switch and enjoy life to the max.

Believe it or not, despite struggles, blips, inconveniences, and losses, life is not meant to be a strain.

Life is meant to be insightful and non-forceful, but we all have our part to play.

Learning from mistakes and projecting good energy (rather than bad energy) into the world comes with wisdom and grace. It’s a knack that improves with practice, so take every new day as a lesson.

Your gut instinct truly does count for a lot, and once you learn how to listen to your own intuition and react differently to daily challenges, you will start to see that life can be more blissful.

You can then prioritise the people and things that mean so much more to you than the work stresses, the chores, the finances, and the bores.

If you feel like you have lost your way in life, please remember that feeling stuck and uncertain are normal human emotions. You can take steps to invest in yourself, find clarity, and be joyful again.

Sometimes, losing your way is absolutely necessary so that you can find your own unique path again.

Cleanse your life. Detox your friends and acquaintances if needed, and plan out your exciting new chapters!

I recently removed over 4000 people from my followed list on Instagram. It’s nothing personal, it’s simply because I don’t need to be seeing so many posts from people I don’t know, particularly if their page no longer interests me or aligns with my own opinions and morals. Have you had a social media clear-out recently?

Tweaking and changing things that no longer align can be liberating and necessary. There is no point in surrounding yourself with things or people that don’t support your own goals and beliefs. The company you keep and the content you absorb have a profound effect on your mindset, your energy, and your actions.

If any of this resonates with you and you want to kickstart your own life-detox, then a great starting point would be to purchase my book, The Magical World of YOU!

Books "The Magical World of YOU!" and "Never Grow Up" on floral sheet. Includes bookmark with rainbow. Bright, cheerful mood.

This self-development workbook will provide you with tried and tested tools that are easy to incorporate into your daily life.

For a few quid, it’s a small investment for a big confidence boost.

The magic is already within you. You just need the encouragement to reignite the spark!

Embrace your dreams, and don’t allow them to be pushed down any further in favour of your comfort zone. Comfort zones are where dreams suffocate.

Those passions and ideas are refusing to leave your mind for a reason. They are screaming to be brought to life, so don’t let your age or the day of the week deter you from taking action.

Listen to your calling and show the world what you have to offer! Make a start on you today.
