Dr. Margaret Potter is a highly respected educational leader and an internationally certified performance coach with more than 20-years of experience. She is Director of the TELL Centre, which provides short courses to support health professionals with their teaching, supervision and assessment activities. As a consequence of her PhD research on the patient-practitioner interaction in healthcare, Margaret is a sought-after speaker and expert on various topics associated with optimising communication. Her motto: Keep learning – keep growing!

Who is Margaret?


I was born in New Zealand, the 'land of the long white cloud' (Aotearoa) and the Maori culture is an important part of my DNA. After completing studies in Physiotherapy, I moved to Western Australia to complete postgraduate studies in Sport Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy focused on communication in health. This has led to a 20+ year successful career working in the healthcare and education sectors. Currently, I’m the Director of TELL Centre which offers the award-winning Teaching on the Run Program for health professionals and also work as a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf and have had a great deal to do with assisting junior golfers to enhance their performance through development of their mental skills. This led me to publishing a best-selling book, Mind Hack Your Golf: Improve Your Game, which provided a framework for assisting individuals to develop their mental skills.


What is it that you do for your clients?


As a Professional Certified Coach (ICF), Emotional Intelligence Certified Coach (Genos International), DISC and Workshop Leader Certified (24x7 assessments) I regularly work with individuals and groups to build self-awareness, self-management, leadership and performance skills. In addition, I deliver training programs focused on leadership development, behaviour profiling, communication skills conflict resolution, teaching, assessment and facilitation skills. My focus is on being client-centred, reliable and authentic. This enables me to provide high-quality coaching and education programs that address specific needs.

I’m passionate about supporting individuals, groups and organisations to optimise communication, teamwork, and workplace-based performance. My clients are diverse and include elite athletes, work-based teams, middle managers, senior executives and CEOs.


What is your big goal or mission?


My mission is to empower people to become the best they can be in all areas of their lives. This involves helping people to set goals, and expand their self-awareness, self-management and self-leadership skills to achieve success.
