I lead a monthly group healing to release unresolved emotions so that you can truly become the best version of yourself. Research has shown that unresolved emotion in the body keeps the systems from running their best. We actually know now that unresolved emotion can result in disease in the body. The book The Body Keeps the Score is a great resource explaining the effects of this.

Over the past few months in my Group Healing, the emotion of suspicion has come up many times. Because the session is a group of people, I know that the emotions that come up are a part of the collective. It certainly makes sense that many people would be holding on to a feeling of suspicion with all that we are experiencing in our world today.

What I know for sure is that if you are holding onto suspicion, consciously or subconsciously, and it is causing you exhaustion, YOU are the solution!

You see, you are an infinite being, a Soulful being inhabiting your physical body for this lifetime. And you have a mind, but you are NOT your mind. Everyone I work with initially is so caught up in the mind they don't realize the bigness of who they really are. That was me too for quite a while until it wasn't...and now my mind no longer drags me into the worry, fear and suspicion that it did for so many years.

When we are overly suspicious, the mind is running the show. Suspicion squelches the heart energy and keeps the unlimited energy of our boundless being contained because we think we need protection. When we become aware and activate the bigness of our being, we realize there is nothing to fear or feel the need to be protected from. The truth of who you are is infinite and creative and way more powerful than you may know.

So what should you do if you're reading this and thinking, "Yea, that’s me!" "My mind runs my life and controls my emotions."?

The first thing to do is to implement meditation into your life. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard someone say, I can't meditate, its too hard, I'd be rich! If you can sit still and breathe with your eyes closed for 5 minutes, you can meditate. One benefit of meditation is you begin to notice your thoughts. While you sit, your mind might be going a mile a minute, bouncing from one thought or worry to the next. That's actually perfect. Because its the awareness of your mind and the busyness in there that matters.

I started meditating about 20 years ago. The way I began was in my car at red lights. It was in the car that I realized my mind really got away from me. I think my mind had a mind of it's own!

Every time I stopped at a red light, instead of getting impatient and cursing that I had to stop, I embraced the pause. I started to see the red light as a blessing, a reason to take a deep breath and take inventory on where my mind was. To this day I appreciate a red light because it feels so good to regularly stop and pause and notice the thoughts I am having.

As soon as you start to become aware of the thoughts you are having, you start to realize that you are NOT those thoughts. And just because you're thinking them doesn't necessarily mean they are true. It is here where you begin to become empowered. If those thoughts are not the truth of who you are you can actually change your thoughts. This is powerful for many reasons. First of all, thoughts create chemistries in the body. So if you have a mind that spends a lot of time worrying, then you are creating an environment for your cells that isn't very healthy. Stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol pour through the body as a result of thoughts. These hormones cause inflammation and keep the body in a state of fight or flight. A body that is constantly in a state of stress cannot heal. So as soon as you notice the thoughts, you can change them, which shifts the emotions you are experiencing. Emotions are meant to be "energy in motion". Now you are deciding how you are going to feel rather than letting the runaway mind dictate your feelings.

As soon as you start to become aware of the endless thoughts that seem to consume your day, or your night (when you wake up and can't get back to sleep) the answer is to become aware of your breath. Breath is spirit in the body. When you find the breath with the mind, you begin to connect to the higher part of you, the real you, the truth of who you are. And as soon as the mind begins to connect to the real Self, that self is no longer contained. It's like freeing the part of you that truly came here to wake up and live a life.

I must add here that you really need to love the mind, the busy protective mind is just doing what it thinks is necessary to keep you safe. There just comes a time in life when you need to say, "Thank you, but I don't need protection anymore." All of the experiences you have had in your life are stored in the body, the good, the sad and the overwhelming. If you have experienced a lot of sadness or trauma then the mind decides to protect you from the consequences of future experiences. So you don't want to reject a protective mind, because we know what you resist persists. Instead you want to love and embrace the protective mind and appreciate it for doing what it thought was necessary for your survival. It is the energy of love that begins to soften and transmute a mind that is is stuck in a protective state of survival.

We all have emotions stuck in our bodies that are preventing the energy of our true selves from flowing. When we release the stuck energy not only does our physical energy flow better, but our life starts to flow better. Your energy field is a template for your life. My work is about awakening you to your magnificent Self and helping to remove the interference that may be preventing that from happening.
