Brainz Magazine Exclusive Top List

While 2023 has been a year of turning points and groundbreaking advancements (we're looking at you, AI), it's also been a year of major turmoil for many people worldwide. As we enter the unknown territory that is 2024, it's clear that we will need the skills of innovative entrepreneurs, health experts and industry leaders more than ever before.

Here's our list of the top 10 business leaders and experts planning to hit the new year head-on and make their mark over the upcoming year:

1) Akshaya Dinesh

Akshaya Dinesh is on a mission to modernize email marketing and bring a touch of the 'charm offensive' to our inboxes in 2024 and beyond. She founded Spellbound in 2021 at the age of 20, a subscription-based company that helps brands embed interactive and immersive user experiences into their marketing emails. Spellbound has accumulated $5.5 million in funding from investors such as Craft Ventures and Neo, so we're excited to see how Akshaya waves her magic wand in 2024.

2) Dennaé Dumas

Dennaé is a licensed sex therapist and intimacy coach who wants to show us how to enjoy self-acceptance, better relationships and improved intimacy in 2024. With a background in performing arts, this forward-thinking coach can show you how there's so much more to having better intimacy than simply getting hot under the covers. Dennaé is on a mission to help you feel good about engaging with yourself and your partner through a better mind-body connection. 2023 has seen Dennaé take a real leap of faith in her work, and we're excited to see her move forward even more fearlessly in 2024 as she challenges our society's cultural narratives around sex, pleasure, relationships, and communication.

3) Amos Haggiag

Amos co-founded the software company Optibus in 2014, which uses AI to revolutionize public transportation networks and support the transition to electric and zero-emission buses in cities all over the world. It claims to have eliminated over 100,000 tons of CO2 emissions from the public transportation sector in the past year. With the recent deal made at the COP28 climate summit in December 2023 calling for a wide-scale transition from the use of fossil fuels, we predict more opportunities for big-thinkers like Haggiag to create positive change in 2024.

4) Camilla Ainsworth

Camilla Ainsworth was the youngest finalist on BBC's 'The Apprentice' in the UK in 2018. Since then, she has partnered with three multinational companies and founded MYLKPLUS, a revolutionary vegan drinks business. Ainsworth is a public speaker and provides consultancy services to businesses of all sizes. She also conducts events and workshops to support women in business and innovation. 2023 saw more women reaching the C-Suite than ever before, and we hope that business consultants like Camilla will continue to make waves in this area in the year to come.

5) Dr Kim Hires

The events of the past few years have caused a sharp rise in feelings of fatigue and overwhelm, and the risk of burnout could be as high as ever in 2024. Dr. Kim Hires is a leadership coach, corporate consultant, author and podcast host who helps people overcome burnout. She works with individuals and organizations to create a healthier work-life balance and shares her brilliant, game-changing advice on TikTok to her 90k followers.

6) Priyanka Jain

Priyanka Jain co-founded women's healthcare start-up Evvy in 2021 with Laine Bruzek and Pita Navarro. By combining advanced at-home vaginal microbiome testing with the power of artificial intelligence, Evvy provides women with better and more accessible early diagnosis and healthcare. Priyanka is also a spokesperson for the United Nations Foundation's Girl Up Campaign, Chair of the Acumen Fund's Junior Council, and on the Innovation Board for the XPrize Foundation. With such a powerhouse CEO at the helm, it's no surprise that Evvy secured $14 million Series A funding in 2023. Expect to see Priyanka and her team tackle women's healthcare on a bigger scale in 2024.

7) Elon Musk

We all know who the wealthiest billionaire in the world is, and Elon Musk certainly needs no introduction. In 2023, this highly influential yet controversial investor has continued to push boundaries and redefine the AI, social media, technology, transportation, and space exploration industries. Musk has already announced ambitious plans for X (formerly known as Twitter) and SpaceX in 2024, and we're not the only ones waiting to see what he does next.

8) MacKenzie Scott

MacKenzie Scott married Jeff Bezos in the early 90's, and together they started selling books from their garage. That company is now the multinational e-commerce marketplace, Amazon. The couple divorced in 2019, and MacKenzie received a 4% stake in Amazon. According to Forbes, she currently has a net worth of $39.1 billion and has become famous for promising to donate at least half of her wealth to non-profits in the course of her lifetime. 2023 has seen her donate $2.2 billion to charity, bringing her total lifetime giving to nearly $16.6 billion. Spring 2024 will see her making donations to a further 250 organizations.
