Matthew Mizerek
Entrepreneur, Coach, Mentor
Matt Mizerek is a leader in mental and physical recovery, mentoring and fatherhood.
He has perservered through child abuse, living in post 9/11 NYC, and suffering two strokes to continue to do help and assist others.
Matt was born in Middletown, Connecticut and raised in the small town of Durham.
Growing up with parents with Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Meunshausen Syndrome, Matt was subjected to unnecessary medications from a very young age.
In this chaotic environement, he still managed to excel in school, receiving full scholarships to all schools he applied. By this time already, he had his artwork displayed in numerous countries around the world. He also had a punk-ska band with a song called 'Not Giving Up' that made it to the local radio airwaves.
Matt then attended Pratt Institute in 2002, shortly after the 9/11 tragedy. Life there was difficult, having experienced intense moments of extreme violence. There, he learned to adapt by selling drugs and fake ids.
Only 3 years living in Brooklyn, Matt's grandfather, who he considered his best friend and only confidante, passed away. Matt attempted suicide the night of his grandfathers passing only to survive and be swept back in the confines of his abusive household.
After several years of recovery, Matt received a full scholarship to the University of Hartford for Visual Communications where he graduated second in his class.
He got into website design and development and taught himself how to program and perfrom successful digital marketing strategies for amazing clients, such as David Copperfield, Bill Ford, Arizona Iced Tea, Harley Davidson, and many more.
Matt got married, had two sons and managed to buy a house in Connecticut.
Despite these successess, his body continued being destroyed by unneccessary medications. He weighed 275 lbs with diabetes, thyroid disease and liver damage.
At age 33, Matt suffered two strokes with out of body experiences that, according to him, 'saved his life.'
He saw his self-worth and his mistakes and dedicated his life to change.
After 8 years of personal work and utter determination, Matt is now in 'perfect health' according to doctors and takes no medications.
Matt fully understands the importance of influence and the importance to do the right thing - no matter the cost.
In 2024 he founded non-profit, Art Always, dedicated to providing free fmarketing and business assistance to artist entrepreneurs and art institutions, in an effort the influence of art never dies.
In 2025, he founded the streetware company, Built For Better Apparel, with a mission of personal acceptance and worldwide unity.
He continues to father two sons, coach basketball, mentor troubled youth, and provide assistance to others any time he can.
His mission for acceptance and unity among all is neverending.
