Hulya Mehmet

Author, Thought Leader, Communication Coach

Hulya Mehmet is a Consultant Speech and Language Therapist, leadership coach, and communication expert with over 25 years of experience spanning health, education, and family systems. She is the founder of Articulate Kids, a specialist service supporting children with complex communication and developmental needs, including autism and ADHD.

Hulya began her career in the NHS, where she gained extensive frontline experience across paediatric clinics, schools, and multidisciplinary teams. This foundation shaped her evidence-based approach and deep understanding of how families interact with support systems, knowledge she now brings into private practice, leadership coaching, and consultancy.

What sets Hulya’s work apart is her rare combination of clinical expertise and real-world understanding. As both a professional and a parent who has navigated communication challenges within her own family, she brings depth, empathy, and clarity to every interaction. Beyond her work with families, she supports professionals, including school leaders, early years providers, and organisational teams, to build inclusive, neurodiversity-informed environments where communication leads.

Her debut book, Why Isn’t My Child Talking?, is forthcoming and already anticipated as a vital guide for parents navigating early communication concerns. Hulya has been featured in The Daily Telegraph and is a Cambridge (ICE)–certified leadership coach. She regularly speaks on the intersection of child development, communication, and inclusive leadership, and is the host of The Heart of Communication podcast.

Whether working with a family in crisis or a leadership team in transition, Hulya’s mission is to make communication the catalyst for connection, growth, and lasting change.
