Alexis Beckford is a licensed social worker and psychotherapist in the state of Georgia. She is a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional, a Clinically Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional, and a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Provider. Alexis specializes in child and adolescent mental health with her niche being high acuity mood disorders, trauma, and attachment concerns. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, Master of Social Work, and a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy all from the University of Georgia, Go Dawgs! Alexis is currently working towards the completion of her doctorate degree at Tulane University. She is the founder, director, and lead therapist of The Zen Den Counseling and Wellness, a nomadic therapy practice based in Atlanta, GA that offers virtual, in-home, and in-community offerings to clients of all ages. Alexis’s expertise and dedication has positively impacted many lives, establishing a reputation for excellence and innovation in therapeutic practices. As a cross-culturally sensitive psychotherapist that considers the entirety of the human experience, Alexis’s consideration for cultural impacts on shaping both an individual's childhood experiences and healing journey, has assisted many immigrants and first-generation Americans to break free of the stigma surrounding receiving mental healthcare. This promotes physical, emotional, and psychological growth and well-being as Alexis works to guide them on their path of peace, healing, and self-discovery.
